The day before BB7 broadcast Blackboard Jungle, the announcer trailed it (before they played ISIRTA) and said "...and we'll be hearing from the Tony Hancock Appreciation Society about how it was rediscovered". They must have forgotten to broadcast that bit as I couldn't find it. It wasn't before or after the Hancock broadcast anyway. Anyone know which file i have to click to hear this, or can anyone fill us in on the details. Dan, go to the page below, on the BBC7 Web site, and you should see it - second one down: www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7/listenagain/tuesday/Yeah, I downloaded that already. What I was wanting to hear was someone from the THAS telling us the story of how it was recovered, as promised by a voiceover person the day before. I don't hear anything like that on that recording.

Having come rather late to this thread, can anyone tell me if the New Secretary can be downloaded from anywhere now it's fallen from the BBC7 listings?

Perhaps I'm hearing things, but when I grabbed "The Blackboard Jungle" from BBC7 (and "The New Secretary" for that matter), both came with a short introduction from someone who told a little about the episode in question, and how it had been found. I'm at work at the moment, so don't have the recordings to hand, but I DID keep the intros and can post later (when I get home) with more details. Au Res., Paul Bines

Both recent finds of 'The Blackboard Jungle' and 'The New Secretary' are to be re-broadcast as part of BBC7's Pick Of The Year, on New Year's Eve...
So, that good news then...

'The New Secretary' I thought was a decent show, but I found 'The Blackboard Jungle' very disappointing; far too topical, which would have dated it almost immediately. It just sounded to me as though it was written in a great rush, quite unlike Galton & Simpson's usual style where you could imagine them agonising over lines in search of just the right phrasing and rhythm. BUT...............good to have them back in the archive of course. Definitely worth a listen.

how are you hearing these? cant get bbc7 here Where's "here"? Not that it particularly matters, because if you've got a broadband internet connection you can go to www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7/listenagain/, where all the BBC7 programs are available for streaming for a week after broadcast.

Indeed, one of the major beneifits (IMO) of having broadband, if you haven't got digital TV...
