The word "download" in my previous post is a link. Click it and you're taken to another page. Scroll right to the bottom and you'll see "Select your download: Free / Premium."

I've just listened to it. It's great.
Has anyone told the BBC yet?

I think the BBC know about it already. And if they don't, they will do soon...

Just interested to know, how many of us/you, have downloaded this file, and have ejoyed it now ? Well I certainly enjoyed it. It's great that another lost Hancock show has turned up after all this time. Interestingly, in the Hancock radio log thread, a link is given to the following web page: homepage.ntlworld.com/patricia.wildey/guide_radio.htmwhich has this at the bottom: So does this mean that the mystery collector has now come forward after nearly 3 years. BTW any chance of a higher bitrate version?

Also interesting that The Blackboard Jungle is listed on that page as held by the Hancock Society. Maybe they downloaded it from here and just updated the page?

Just downloaded the file and the website says it has been downloaded 22 times so I guess that is how many of us have now got it from there. What a treat it is. It just goes to show we should always maintain hope that more material is out there.

Gary, According to Wilmut’s book Tony Hancock ‘Artiste’ - A Tony Hancock Companion – (the Hancock bible), the show was produced on Sunday 20 Nov 1955 and was actually broadcast on Wednesday 23 Nov 1955, at 8.00pm. It was repeated, as all the shows from the series were, on the following Sunday, at 5.00pm. The only other time it was broadcast, was on Monday 2 April 1956, at 7.00pm. So, it only ever went out 3 times, if Wilmut’s book, is anything to go by… and therefore, up until now, hasn’t been heard for near on 50 years!!!

I'm going to have another go, at getting rid of those last few pops remaining in this episode (that I missed the last time round, in my hurry to get it out...), then I'll be more then happy to offer up a much higher bit rate copy... Give me a couple of days...

do we know if the person that recorded the Blackboard Jungle has anything else 'lost'?? Quite possibly, Gary. Many more tapes were found, we just don't know what's on them yet... Only time will tell us that… You can rest assured, that if anything else is found, I’ll make it a priority, to let this forum know first!
