As is well known this recently recovered 1977 edition of Top Of The Pops was broadcast on BBC4. However, was quite saddened to see the quality contrast that has been pointed out in regards. Why did they not use the original colour source recording here in regards? As can see is far superior to the quality of video which was broadcast on BBC4 for the 31/03/77 edition.:

Great to finally see "Pinball Wizard" in colour... Keith Moon's antics behind Daltrey on that first verse always makes me smile and amusing to see Moon dressed up in shirt and tie for the occasion.

That Bolan back stage footage was used in the BBC doc made about his a few years back "Marc Bolan - The Final Word", a longer version available on DVD. Also several other (at least till then) "missing" clips inc TOTP...

Here's another great find concerning Abba. Their Eddy-Go-Round Show special (Dutch TV) has now been found in in it's entirity due to the host, Eddy Becker having a VCR recording of the show, which was cleaned up and shown again on Dutch TV on April 22 this year.

The SOS clip was featured in "The Testament of the Seventies" box set (BR Music) released some years ago.
Have always prefered the "Toppop" performance of SOS from 13th June 1975 though.
