Hi All, I'm currently writing a book on The Tremeloes! Format will be very similar to my recent book on The Searchers: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CCCVMSWCSeveral ex-band members are assisting me, but I'm still searching for any previously unpublished photos. So if you've taken any photos at concerts etc over the years, please get in touch: peterchecksfieldauthor@gmail.com Thank you, Peter C. PS. I'm not on social media, but feel free to share this message on facebook, message boards, etc!

Here's an updated list of Tremeloes (& related) TV appearances... am I missing anything?
THE TREMELOES’ TV & FILM APPEARANCES
This is an updated version of a list which first appeared in the book ‘Channelling The Beat!’. Dates, unless specified otherwise, refer to broadcast dates; taping dates for pre-recorded shows have been added when known. Occasionally, shows were broadcast on more than one date, in different regions of the UK; in these cases, the earliest known date is listed. For concert footage, the dates of the actual concerts are shown, with broadcast dates added where known. Generally, only actual performances are listed, not interviews, documentaries or news report. If anyone has any additional info, no matter how trivial, then please get in touch! All performances listed in BOLD are known to still survive, either in TV vaults or private collections.

Peter I see the Scottish TV 'Hear Here' show dates from 23-10-1981 and I recall Bob Benham was a member for that show however per wiki (often incorrect) it states Bob left the group in 1979 - is this another wiki error ?
somewhere I have a pretty naff converted from Beta to VHS recording of that show - with dreadful 'tracking' issues ! - and I believe they also did 'Twist and Shout' sung by Dave Munden out in front with Chip Hawkes playing drums (which surprised me back then) - Dave was wearing a light coloured leather waistcoat with no shirt if I remember correctly
I will try to locate the old VHS tape and see if I can confirm this (it might be from another show of course), but I recall it as the Hawkes-Munden-Westwood-Benham four piece line up
Obviously you know this but CBS Special Products issued two singles of The Tremeloes with two other CBS artists as special offer singles
'Here Comes My Baby' c/w '59th Street Bridge Song' (Feelin' Groovy)' by Simon & Garfunkel which was a Pepsi Cola offer
'Even The Bad Times Are Good' (the album version - with; 'Go on Len 'ave a sing...!' intro) c/w 'The Clapping Song' by Anita Harris

Thanks, Geoff! The line-up changes and dates listed on wikipedia are wrong. I believe the "classic" line-up of Alan, Dave, Rick and Chip got back together sometime in 1982 (certainly in time for 1983's 'Unforgettable' TV show), up until Chip left towards the end of 1988.
Until he too quit in late 2016, Dave Munden was the only band member who never left the The Tremeloes!

Peter!
I have them doing Candy Man as well on TYLS 18th January 64, but only an educated guess. The top band generally did the a and b side.
One source has them doing Someone, Someone on the 15th August 1964.

Hi Kev, I already have 'Candy Man' listed for that date, presumably you mean that they also did the B-side 'I Wish I Could Dance'? Someone has kindly confirmed another TV appearance missing from my list: 27-02-71 - ‘Stewpot’ (LWT - UK): Me and My Life / Right Wheel, Left Hammer, Sham (This was taped on 02-02-71)

Sounds like a fascinating read, Peter. Will it include the band's rather rash dismissal of their pop fans when they decided to 'go heavy'? Not one of their cleverest moves!

I'm trying to find the exact quote and where it appeared (NME?), though I'm pretty certain it was Alan Blakley who said it.

I'm fairly sure I have it in one of my Melody Maker back issues, so I will have a look and get back to you.

Hi Peter, Could this interview include the quote you are looking for ? ... it's from the NME dated 26th September 1970 and it is Alan Blakley that comments !

Thank you, William! Some ill-judged comments there, but I'm not sure if it's quite the notorious one that effectively ended their chart career in the UK. Great to see though!
