When did Len (Chip) Hawkes join the Tremeloes August 1966, about 6 months before they fully split from Brian Poole. Here's one of only two known pics of Chip in Brian Poole and The Tremeloes. Prior to that, Mick Clarke (later in The Rubettes) was the bassist for around 3 months, and it was his suggestion to sing 'Silence Is Golden' on stage. Attachments:

Did you know that Alan Blakley from The Tremeloes released 8 successful solo albums, 2 of them after he died? Me neither, BECAUSE IT NEVER HAPPENED! Yet, check out the in-depth article below. Goes to show that you can never rely on what you read on the internet, particularly in these days of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) produced articles. oldtimemusic.com/the-list-of-alan-blakley-albums-in-order/

Anyone know where 'The Red Lion' pub is (or was!) towards the end of this video?

At the end you see actress Carol Dilworth wife of Chip Hawkes and mother of Chesney. They all have their wives with them: Len and Carol Hawkes, Alan and Lin Blakley, Rick and Lynn Westwood, Dave and Andree Munden. Andree Munden sadly died last week. Lin Blakley is a well-known actress these days, as is her daughter Claudie Blakley.

Hi Peter,
The Red Lion pub at the end of the video may well be The Red Lion pub Sunningdale Berkshire ?
Situated on London Road.
The pub closed in the early 1970s and became a restaurant.
One of the girls seen outside the pub is actress Carol Dilworth of The Golden Shot, who was the fiancée of the singer Len Chip Hawkes of The Tremeloes.

I know that Alan Blakely and Dave Munden are sadly no longer with us but I am sure I read somewhere that all 4 Trems either remain/remained married to the women they married in the 1960s. Surely some sort of show business record there Peter?

The whole thing looks like it was filmed on a glorious summers day in 1969.

not sure if I posted this on another forum but....
Carol Dilworth of 'The Golden Shot' TV show fame also had a small cameo role in an episode of Randall & Hopkirk Deceased (original ITC series) playing a young lady walking her dog who can see the ghostly Marty Hopkirk (Kenneth Cope)
Carol is credited in the closing credits

I'm intrigued Peter. In both of the publicity photos I've seen of Mick Clarke with the band they are just a 4 piece. Mick told me Brian Poole had left when he joined and that he decided to go back with the Symbols after 3 months or so. Yet, there's a photo of Chip with the guys including Brian Poole? Alan Blakely produced a number recordings with the Rubettes including the chart hits 'Baby I Know', 'Under One Roof' and 'You're The Reason Why'
