I'm based in HK. I've been to the abandoned Shaw Brothers Studio 6 times because I'm a big urbexer and even had a look at some of the abandoned film prints there on the off chance and yes I know Shaw is a film not a TV studio and there is pretty much zero chance there were any there. HK has a huge number of abandoned homes which I've explored but not came across any abandoned film reels as of yet and even if I did probably the humidity would have destroyed them. If it's in the same state as that Morecambe and Wise print, it can be restored but will take a while to do.

Your claim reminds me, however, of one of the (many) rumours years ago on the (now defunct) The Star Warrior website which claimed the star of Shameless was in possesion of a list of missing Doctor Who finds, loosely related to the omnirumour at the time, and Dalek Masterplan 11 & 12 had been found stuck together and required a certain freezing process to unstick them. Carbonite? Pure sci-fi...

What's on the DVD is not up to the same standards as the clip they restored previously. For whatever reason, they used many less frames and deserves to be done right

Sorry to bump this thread, but could it have been possible that the prints were exported to another country, like Nigeria, but weren't documented for some reason?

Unlikely, and PM has been to Nigeria. Please explain as to why it's unlikely that the prints were exported. No record of broadcasts and no paperwork. Apart from that……

Some years ago, Mr. Morris said that what we know about bicycling and exports and all that would "blow a few doors off". Or something. The point is - we just simply don't know, at least until Mr. Morris is able to educate us on this subject.

View AttachmentI’ve attached my diagram showing what happened to Evil and Tomb. It’s important to remember that newspaper listings provide intentions of what’s to be broadcast rather than records of what was broadcast. Consequently, the best explanation I have for two episodes of Tomb being advertised in Hong Kong and then all four being advertised some time later is that it was inadvertently sent to Singapore with Evil - somebody ****ed up! Both stories were shown in Singapore and Tomb was then returned to Hong Kong where it was shown, and forgotten. Two decades later it was found and sent back to Auntie. I think it’s clear that only Tomb was sent back to Hong Kong, had Evil been included it would have almost certainly survived and been sent back to Auntie with Tomb. The only unaccounted for Evil prints are those that ended up in Singapore but it’s reasonable to assume that they were either destroyed or returned to Auntie. Is it possible that EotD was returned to Hong Kong alongside TotC, but was destroyed in the 1987 RTV fire?

If it had been returned to Hong Kong it would surely have made its way back to London with Tomb.
