[/quote]The Lion is now owned by a film collector and friend of the Restoration Team. We had the option of borrowing the original print back, but decided there would be little to no benefit in doing so once we looked at the existing transfer.
We did however borrow three other prints from the same collector; The Abominable Snowmen #2, The Time Meddler #1 & #3. These have all had new 1920 X 1440 scans alongside the BBC's original prints and are the basis for the restoration of the respective episodes.

Oh I am glad the print isn't lost and is owned by a friend of the team. Also good that you know a new transfer wouldn't improve it more. But that is good about him having higher quality episodes of other episodes that we have. I really am looking forward to this set!

I think the odds on having a story that's already been animated be revisited when there are others that have no animation at all is highly unlikely. Once we get an animation that's pretty much it. It's why I was so heavily critical of the Web 3 one and why I'd rather not have one at all as there's always hope that way an opportunity ft a better one may come in the future Well they did redo The Power of the Daleks and that was 6 episodes! I wasn't suggesting making a completely new animation of the two Reign of Terror episodes just wondering whether it might be possible to improve the existing ones by reducing the number of rapid cuts. If some shots could be extended by a few seconds then others could be removed and everything would flow so much better and not induce nausea.

What is the relationship between BBC Studios and Big Finish Creative? Why does BFC produce superb stand-alone animated releases of missing stories but isn't commissioned to produce animations for the blu-ray boxsets? Because there is no way that the Blu-ray budget could pay for animation to be done. It would barely scratch the surface. While I had bought all the R1 DVD releases at one time, I didn’t plan to buy any of the color (Pertwee on) season Blu-rays. However, I had always planned to buy the S1-S6 (BW) Blu-rays. I may be alone, which means no real money for animations, but maybe there are others?

The Reign of Terror isn't comparable because not only was power worked on by the same team, effectively given more time to improve there work but there has been a decade since the Reign animation. The studio no longer exists I'd be surprised if the uncompilled files. Like computer animation doesn't work the same way you can't just add frames out if nowhere in without redoing the assets from scratch. Yes there both animations but it's effectively asking the animators who made toy story to add scenes to snow white and only giving them a vhs tape. It's just not as simple as that and would require full reanimations of the to Reign eps and I just don't think it warrants it. It's not popular enough and I'd rathe they do 2 eps that havnt been done. Like underwater menace got example.

Also I believe when they wanted to re-render Toy Story for a 3D version the newer version of the Renderman software wouldn't take the original files. Things move on at a fast pace with computer animation.

Please can someone explain what is an enhanced audio soundtrack is thanks An alternative soundtrack to the episodes that has been enhanced with additional effects to provide a different soundscape. It was done with Destiny of the Daleks on the Season 17 set.

Thanks very much Richard is that soundtrack playable on a standard TV is it only available in surround sound It depends on the TV really. Most modern TV's can decode and combine surround sound into a stereo mix. There can be side effects when doing this "combining of channels". The most noticeable side effect on older gear is soft vocalizations (One center Channel mixed to two stereo) to obnoxiously loud music and effects noises, (Four or more surround channels mixed to two stereo) This is why on some releases of older media (DVD) there were audio choices for surround sound, stereo, or mono. You pick what your TV, or sound gear could handle.

Is 1st Doctor Blu-ray definitely happening? I don’t see any release date anywhere. I’m reluctant to tie up my fund if it’s not a (relatively) definite go.
