Things will happen if the demand is large enough. Really?? Wow I've never heard that before. Come to think of it, in some ways amateur dubbing might be EASIER (pre-digital) than subtitling. There was, it seems, an established system for duplicating 16mm prints that had probably grown over time. Why not have dubbing facilities too?

Possibly it was "Russian" dubbing (one person narrating a translation for all characters), I don't know.

Someone telling the story, a bit like what Auntie did for some of the foreign series years ago? Also in Poland; there it's called "Polish Lektor". There are a few examples of foreign 'narration' in place of dubbing on YouTube.
