65 STV Missing Shows

the following are all completely Missing from the STV archive, not one episode is currently there. Perhaps working together we can change that for some of them please

Oh,I thought,you'd found them.I had that little wax-doll of you all ready...

I was actually quite pleased when a copy of 'Airport Chaplain' turned up at the BFI a year or two ago.

On the question of listing missing shows as 'the target for tonight',I think it's potentially very useful.
If think we're meant to wait for someone to post "My granny was in a show about the Sex Olympics,and I'd love to see it",but I've always found it v. useful when
people such as Ray and yourself focus attention on a show I've never heard of.

I,myself,too have managed that with 'A Chance to Meet'.

The debut of Rutger Hauer AND Paul Verhoeven. Did they dub only 4 episodes? I'm glad you mention it. It would make it more accessible to English viewers than the fanmade subtitles of this excellent children's series.
Even just the audio would be sufficient because the Dutch original still exists.

The Glen Michael Cavalcade 1975 2 episodes.? Try nearly all 1960's and 1970s episodes. = Around 500 episodes, I'm lead to believe many of the 1980s are also missing.

High Living 1969-71 52 episodes tx ATV, High living had over 200 episodes created.

* Grampian Television All episodes, 1969 - 1971.
* Border Television All episodes, 1969 - 1971.
* HTV From 1969 until mid 1970
* ATV and Southern Television: 6 January - July 1969, before being dropped.

Hello, Good Afternoon And Welcome is just the same, ie it the renamed for ITV network from the Hello, Good Evening And Welcome episodes

Since the list does including other shows which do have a few episodes, it might be a good time to also highlight some HUGE gaps:

* Garnock Way 1976 - 1979: At last over 100 are missing. STV does have a 4 .
* Thingummyjig (1976–83) STV has one master copy left from its last every episode, the public has sent in two copies from early 80s
* Would you believe it A show presented by Glen Michael - none
* The Rikki Fulton hour 1966 - none
* One Oclock gang, - 1 snappit sent to ITN.
* Better Sex ( gameshow) - none
* The Hogmanay Show 1980, 1982, 1984, 1986 are missing as well.

Of course the one of the biggest missing gems from the archives: Here Hear, which over 150 missing.

Hear Here, was a STV music segment, in which any musical act of the day was allowed on. So we had Andy Stewart, Heritage, Barbara Dickson, going all the way to Simple minds, etc so it covered alot of tastes. 

The series went out between 1979 and 84/85.  It went out on a Mondays but quickly become part of STV golden Friday slot.

A good number of other ITV stations broadcast the series, but never in a good spot. 

STV has around 50-60 episodes in the vaults, but if you do the maths at least another 150 - 200 are missing. Even if we inlcuded the copies found, the number which are lost still outweigh the ones that have been found. 

I have never find a complete list of all Hear Here episodes, I would love to see one.

There will be thousands more missing STV shows not on that list. We only have a tiny access to the Scottish TV Times. If we could access more editions we would type in more data.

Actully most library members are able to view the time newspaper  and others via there Local council library services online.

We can access those newspapers Mike but they often lack detail. For tx date and title they are great, but the listings are not in TV Times detail. Very good papers though I agree.
