well Bermuda is a lot smaller than Canada. Anyone know if Bermuda has a thriving film collecting community?

So, does anyone know the release date for fury from the deep then? Hopefully it will get the delux treatment and get a betamax or super 8 release. Babelcolour is working on it as we speak.

No chance that you can remember anything of the galactic delegates John?
That Big Christmas Tree always intrigued me!

Absolutely fascinating stuff John. Really looking forward to reading more and hopefully other memories will be triggered elsewhere? We really are hungry for information like this and that recollection of the first trailer is wonderfully evocative. (I've recreated the whole thing in my head already) Looking forward to seeing recons based on your memories too!
BTW, has Ian Levine ever published or posted his contemporary notes? I keep hearing drips and drops but I've never seen them posted anywhere.
You know, we really could do with a ....Mind Probe.....cue.........

@anthony - I've spoken to him on the phone and I know the address of the shop. ........ Once someone has contacted the shop owner to confirm this story, could they please get back onto this thread and tell us if a print of Daleks episode 7 really has turned up? Ta

The wording from Jon Preddle was that ZDF no longer held the prints of the Ice Warriors held back in 1968.
That tells us that the lead was a good one. ZDF confirm that they held prints of the Ice Warriors in 1968 and that they no longer hold them.
Whether they were returned to the BBC, were thrown out by ZDF, were stolen, bicycled on to other European stations, turned into doorstops we don't know.
When they were received and for how long they were held is not declared.
They might have held them until April 2012 when they dug them out and gave them back to the BBC. So technically they no longer hold them. Who knows?
But It is an exciting developmet in the world of missing episodes, not just for Dr Who. And I am sure that now the Africa search has come to an end that Paul, Steve et al shall be following up this avenue for possible viewing prints elsewhere.

Then I hope we're not too late with this lead. Vgreto said he hoped it was still there and I believe he was PMing several people. So hopefully someone is hot on the trail. If this pans out, that means three Hartnell Episodes have surfaced. A Land of Fear, The Centre, and now The Rescue. I like these signs! Especially the surfacing of A Land of Fear, an episode from a serial that has two episodes missing (currently being animated). The Cyprus copy, StevenS' copy, and the eBay copy means three have survived to 2012. Very interesting. Very tantalizing! Plus "Conspiracy" episode 3 of Romans last Year.

My earliest memory is of Jon pertwee being strangled by the nestene tentacle at the end of Spearhead from space. it is my earliest dateable memory and I was 2 years and 3 months old! I remembered it for years as the Doctor with a coiled cable around his neck but it wasn't until the episode came out on Video that I could positively identify that scene.
My only other memory from Season 7 is the Primords from Inferno. From Season 8 onwards my memories started to become firmer and more frequent.

George, we all hope the 106 are found ~ but I'll take animations for the time being which could be a few more years in the making.... I'm all for animating lost episodes and hopefully full stories. This becomes easier and more achievable each month. I'm not totally enamoured by the animation style used in the Invasion release (It doesn't look great in the clips of Reign of Terror either) but it's certainly watchable. But just look at what can be achieved with 3d animation. Don't know if anyone here has seen the fan made 'Wheel in Space' trailer on Youtube? And I'm with Arnold. I would have liked to be given the OPTION to watch Zygons with a new Skarasen because in my opinion it's worse than the Rat in 'Talons' as an effect that detracts from the an otherwise flawless production.

Of course,if the description is "A dramatization over 7 parts of life in early Yuan Dynasty China",they might stay away in their droves... ;D Excellent. How about A four part semi- educational production depicting the 16th Century European Wars of Religion.

Word has come in from ZDF confirming it no longer holds the prints of The Ice Warriors held back in 1968. Is that because they've just given them back to the BBC?

The last time anything was said, 'Varos' was September and 'Shada/30 Years' and 'Reign' were expected to be the remaining two releases for this year. 'Zygons', along with 'Tenth Planet', 'Ice Warriors', 'Ambassadors' and MoE are all presumably on next year's schedule. Excellent. Zygons with a CGI option for the Skarasen Ambassadors and Mind of Evil in full colour Tenth Planet with an animated final episode The Ice Warriors with the two missing episodes reinserted. Should be a great 50th year!
