I was told on another forum that this episode already exists? Unfortunately it was considered lost/missing until this 16mm print showed up.

When released on the Hendrix BBC sessions set the performance from "Happening for Lulu" had an introduction from Lulu both, before "Voodoo Child" and "Hey Joe/SOYL", however all the video versions I've seen do cut Lulu's introduction to "Voodoo Child". Did it surface anywhere? The uncut video that had been saved by Bob Pratt shows Lulu before the song starts, but does not contain her intro.

Excellent quality too....wonder if they have the whole episode in this quality (much better than the known about one). Looks like it might even have been restored which just might be significant..... (Its also clearly an influence on The Monster Club film. LOL Almost all episodes of Shindig! exist in broadcast quality. Unfortunately, they are being "sat upon".

The first episode of Disco 2 survives, with Joe Cocker and Lou Christie (backed by the Elton John Band). Another complete episode that survives is the one with Jimmy Campbell, which also has Love Affair, Rare Bird, and UFO. There are also Disco 2 inserts that survive by James Taylor and Matthew Southern Comfort. The opening of one Disco 2 episode, which showed The Beatles performing "Get Back" from the "Let It Be" movie also survives. Also, a partial performance from Stone the Crows also exists, as it was included in another program. A Nico insert for "Janitor Of Lunacy" also survives. A 1971 episode exists too, with Assagai and Ned Kelly. Another from 1971 that survives is an episode with The Faces. And, of course the 8mm film discussed in this thread.

I wish! This, Slade 'Let's Call It Quits' (x2) and T-Rex 'London Boys' are at the top of my "lost" 1976-1977 holy grails... I was told by a reliable source who attended the event that Kal showed one of the "Let's Call It Quits" performances at one of their events in poor quality b/w. I haven't seen it myself since original tx Yes, a TOTP performance of Let's Call It Quits, with Slade wearing the rubber noses was recovered by Kal from the "computer tapes". Dated 19th Feb 1976.

Don't suppose you have the show with the Wizzard promo of 'This is the story of my love' on by any chance? . Been trying to track that one down for years. Nope. I've got around 14 episodes, and no Roy Wood to be seen......

I have several of those shows, apparently copied from commercial VHS tapes that were sold in Australia.

This year marks 50 years since the album Ziggy Stardust it’s also 50 years since the first performance of the song was done on the children’s TV programme lift off of course we have the wonderful top of the Pops version but is there any news that’s being made available regarding the existence of the original performance on lift off as I’ve Not heard anything about it since it was claimed to have been recovered Nothing new. A tape had been found that stated that the Bowie clip was on that tape, but the tape has not been readable. It's still unknown if the clip is on that tape.

Hi Paul. That is from the NTSC kinescope that Mark Tinkler had written about in this thread several years ago.
Yoko's own copy had been shown last year as part of the Lennon80 series of broadcasts. Her copy is also a color kinescope, but was unedited.

And massive thanks to the guides on the Popscene forums, without which I'd never be able to identify the specific editions!
Agreed! The Popscene forum is great!
