Fully agree with you on Padbury; if she had made documentaries on the history of toothbrushes or something like that in the late 60s I would happily sit there......... staring lol. Especially if she was wearing that outfit from Mind Robber. Rowr! I'm reminded of an article in the fanzine Club Tropicana which bemoaned the loss of Invasion:4 because of the nice view of Zoe climbing up the ladder hanging from the helicopter...

Wendy's certainly cute, but what really impresses me is the way she played Zoe without the character becoming a typical annoying teenage genius. Zoe's belief in her own brilliance is quite innocent and not at all egotistical. So, yes, I wouldn't mind more eps of "Wheel" even if the story's a bit of a bore

Could not agree more. Her outfit in the Mind robber must surely hold legendary status amongst the fans who are inclined towards the ladies I have heard talk of Invasion before, a greater loss to the fans than you would guess on an initial assessment

The UNIT hotline! "The Pertwee should not be confused with the Mollie Sugden". That's gold.

Sticking strictly to material that's missing, I think the most overrated episode is easily Tenth Planet:4. It's status derives totally from being Hartnell's last regular appearance... If there was another story between Tenth and Power, people would still want it back but it'd be more like wanting to see the missing parts of Ice Warriors back. You're right of course. But as far as episodes that will be revealed as overrated if found, I don't think this will be one! What exists of it is probably a pretty fair representation of the episode. Far from perfect, but I doubt it will have any fall from grace. We know why we like it. Unfortunately I think Macra Terror will take a tumble. It works so well by audio, but those props are awful.

Hey Matt - nice touch. Just to prove that the BBC isn't the only ones with mastering issues, pages 6 and 47 were swapped (they were like that in my printed copy, only upside down). I corrected the page order and re-uploaded it, albeit with a slightly different URL: Club Tropicana #2I also have CT #1 and two issues of the fanzine Top from around the same time. I'll PDF them when I can and put them here as I do: Doctor Who Fanzines

Enemy of the World (way underrated) and Web of Fear (somewhat overrated) have proved to me that you really can't judge from audios and tele-snaps.
However, I'd suggest that The Space Pirates is probably a lot more interesting and enjoyable than its reputation might suggest, and that Series 5 as a whole might actually be inferior to the less-well thought of Series 4... with Fury from the Deep being perhaps the biggest unexpected dip in quality.
In fact, Enemy and Web revealed one thing to me that I'd never really picked up on before, and that was that Victoria Waterfield was wet, irritating and a very poor replacement for Polly! Not something I had considered prior to seeing those stories on iTunes.

Its good that we all like different things. Space pirates is rather good i think. Fury for me looks really good as well. Smugglers would be nice to see as well if it turns up....

Based on this thread, i am going back through the audios to re-assess - Got to say i am still left underwhelmed by both Highlanders and Massacre, so hoping that i will be pleasnatly surprised if i ever get to see them. Not sure wherger that means they're under or over rated though...
