One of the most underrated stories in my view has to be Galaxy 4. Ever since I first listened to the sound track in 2010, I've always had a bit of love for the story!

Enemy is a bit of a let down for me. Ep 1 is brilliant, 2 @ 3 average. Then it picks up to a good part 6. Overall a good story, but not a classic ! Galaxy 4 is one that i hope is found again

Airlock was just fantastic, imagine what episodes 1, 2 & 4 might be like!

Its an Oddball in a Monster season. Over long is enemy, and i found it very average in places. Space Pirates is one that is slated for a stand alone episode, which i feel that Enemy had a REP for that before it was found ! Macra i do hope is found, along with power. Pats first is more important because its the only first story of a dr missing.

I completely agree Shelley, and if you believe some of the claims, they have been , but as we've ranted before, nothing is making its way home very quickly.Power is the first story I have clear memories of.

It is often cited that Enemy is 'Bond like'. Is it? Where has this originated from? It neither mimics the Eon productions or the Fleming novels. It's as Bond as any other Who with a singular human antagonist. It also has a helicopter. The Television companion quotes D. Gibbs in 1990 saying that 'Jamie is a Bond substitute'. Salamander is also likened to Blofeld and Scaramanga (sic - Scaramanga is a hitman). Is it BOND like or just a near contemporary thriller?

Power is a biggy for one reason. The show could of flopped with a new lead. And maybe having the daleks in that first story helped the transition to pats DR. I think that any missing so called classic has the chance of not living up to its Rep of course, But that also means a so called Turkey might be a hidden classic. The smugglers is one of the silent classics i feel. As for the missing Episode thing, a bit quiet at the moment which is good. Now, as far as Menace and crusade, we can not say the dvd range is finished while these two are not released. Even if they say it is, it is not is it ! I believe there are more. We just might need to acquire the ability to regenerate if we are to see them at this rate

The Underwater Menace we are missing existing footage (a whole episode in fact) but we really can't complain about The Crusade. It would be nice if we could have had it but we don't.

Yes, but there is no real reason why they are not out on dvd. None that make sense anyway......... DVD in their own right i mean.........

This has been posted on another thread as it is tricky finding the right place on some long standing topics.
I've had a cooling off period from Missing Episodes and I'm not going to criticise Phil Morris just because I can't wait a few months or years to see something that's been lost for decades.
If Web and Enemy were grabbed for release in time for the 50th anniversary someone might now be feeling awful should ep3 of Web be awaiting retrieval and analysis on a dusty shelf in a store somewhere in the world or better still, amongst a bulk retrieval awaiting painstaking retieval. Doctor Who is just one classic show with dozens of lost episodes among many other British shows from the 1960s so there is potentially a huge, time consuming job ahead if the bulk retrieval has any fact to it.
It is very sensible to complete an exhaustive search and then catalogue everything before declaring the returns to the public, irritating as that is for we the impatient hordes of fans. I'd far rather get the complete picture in due course than any rushed releases of half truths or even classic stories that would have benefitted from being held back. I'm more than happy, by the way, to have seen an incomplete Web via iTunes and DVD because that just far exceeded my wildest dreams.
On that basis, holding back the Crusade and Underwater Menance from release probably makes sense.
If you also chill out and read around the various Who forums you'll see people who've taken the time to analyse where we are so far and I have rehashed some of this, above. It is a view I'm happy to subscribe to, much as I get excited by snippets of speculation as to what is back.

Well, it'd give something to do, wouldn't it? In a week you'd forget it completely and be able to enjoy it all over again.
