I've lost track of exactly how the oumniroumour is doing. Could I get a brief summary (hold the hysteria)?

Quite clearly partially fiction. Steve Roberts have been extremely clear and unparseable that he's aware of nothing else being returned out of the 97. And that there hasn't been any restoration of Marco Polo ... unless whoever has it is restoring it himself, which he thinks unlikely. Steve has been all but silent for months. I see no reason to doubt him. The only silver lining is that he's commented that he thinks more may be returned in the future. Clearly though, these bizarre stories of stories beginning with M being restored, of release schedules, etc., is fiction.

I think the omni has done its dash. Let's be happy with what we have now rather than worry about what tomorrow's going to bring. It makes for much better discussion

Greetings!
I have been lurking this board for three years now, but I have a question that merits posting.
I have been following this omni-rumor and have to say that while I'm sure its mostly rubbish, my inner optimist is really excited by the slim possibility that it could be true. Now, I hate to be a bring down, but lets say 90 episodes have been recovered. This would be awesome, but it also means that 16 have not. When do we throw in the towel? Will Doctor Who enthusiasts keep scouring the world for 16 episodes, some of which are orphans? I would love to see the complete series returned to the BBC's archive in my lifetime (and if the rumor about "The Feast of Steven" being found is true then anything is possible), but is there a point where we say enough is enough and be content with what we have? Is there a threshold where once we cross, the search is called off?
Just food for thought.

Is there a threshold where once we cross, the search is called off? Just food for thought. I suppose that people will stop searching when all the episodes are found (hurmph),or when there seems no more point in searching. It's been stressed that in this sort of case it's impossible to prove a negative. We'd proved a 'quite unlikely, really',but then Phil Morris came along and showed that that's not the same thing.Nine times. Ever noticed how out of all the pieces in a jigsaw-puzzle,it's the last piece which is most irritating when it's missing? Which leads to the question: if there has to be ONE still AWOL,which missing episode would cause the most pain?

Most pain? I'd rather not say. But it's obvious to syndication

As it has been said here before - you want OMNIRUMOUR - see Galifrey Base, Outpost Skaro or Planet Mondas - you will find your answer there......

We just have to wait and see what is or is not announced. If there were going for an annoucment I would not put it past the BBC to announce it immediatly after the closing credits of the 20th aniversary story when every one has been glued to there sets and then they can run and down load the latest I tunes and pre order a DVD that will arrive just before Christmas. . . .

I'm guessing if nothing more is announced within the next year I think we can all safely assume it was mostly nonsense.

That would also kill the rumor if nothing is announced by say New Years Day I would assume its all wishful thinking these past few months. . .

I still think that somehow 9 Episodes got turned into 90 through that marvelous medium of Chinese Whispers.
