It says that one of the episodes found was Daleks Master Plan 7. Unless that's simply a typo, then it's a load of bollocks. According to Jon Preddle, in another thread, it is possible a 16mm telerecording was made during broadcast. Anyway, just read the rumour on DWA. doctorwhoarchive.com/2013/11/07/new-missing-episode-rumours-and-facts-for-november/Now pls excuse me for being thick, but can someone explain the "speculation" part re DWM and the telesnaps and the relavance to EOTD? I couldn't get the meaning (if there was a meaning there at all) As regards private collectors "cashing in". Now would realistically be the best time to do so. If they can offload their cop(y)(ies) cheaper and quicker than Mr Morris unloads his supposed hoard it makes more sense for "them" to get their orphans out first in case Mr Morris (supposedly) makes their "stuff" suddenly worth a lot less. At the very least, I'd expect announcements on WIS and TAS since it's documented that the TV station in Nigeria was sent those alongside WOF and EOTW. If one found WOF and EOTW there, one would quite reasonably expect to find the other 2 as well (since the TV station seemed to keep everything it was sent). IF stuff such as Massacre has been found, then surely this must have come from Sierra Leone, along with all the other now missing Hartnell's they seemed to have held (and iirc broadcast out of contract). However iirc there was information that the tv place was bombed and the stuff destroyed in 1999. However it wasn't made clear if it indeed was the old building with the archived stuff, or the new one. IF they have been found, it would clear that matter up. The ship: These alleged 8000 or w/e cans, they must have been brought back to the UK via ship. Surely there must be a record somewhere of just which ports this ship called at on its way to the UK. Extrapolation with the records of which country brought what would then help to either debunk or give more credibility to more episodes being found. There was a record of the cans coming in LIVERPOOL

There's also the fact -- one that many seem to have overlooked -- that a quote for shipping container would include the weight of the container itself, so 3 ton is the TOTAL weight, not of just the contents. If that is the case then the maximum actual cargo could be under a ton, so less than 500 30 minute film cans - still a major haul but nothing like the numbers being thrown about here. But are there records of what non-who stuff as sold to Nigeria in the 60s. What could we realistically expect to find?

Seriously, can't help but hear the march of white robots all over this... In a battle between the Omnirumour and The Karkus, who would win? Place your bets!!

Remember the first rule of journalism however - any headline in the form of a question can always be answered with a "no"

I'm guessing if nothing more is announced within the next year I think we can all safely assume it was mostly nonsense. I'll give it the stories of a possible Marco Polo recovery until February (the serial's first ep's 50th anniversary) before I put it to rest for good. Same logic I used for EOTW's release, which I gave until this month to come true, which happened.

The anniversary, or dec i think. If nothing by then, Then i guess its either taking longer to restore anything they might have. Or they have zilch ! Gut feeling is there is something.

The shipping and freight details have been pored over endlessly since the rumours started in June (to a quite obsessive degree, in fact). Where have you been hiding?!
