Even if entire stories have been recovered, I doubt we'd hear anything about it until the anniversary. I'd love the recent rumours about the recovery of Power, The Savages or Web of Fear to be true, but I think any recovery will be kept tightly under wraps until it can be announced in November. I'm hoping we get some good news then.

I haven't heard any rumours about Savages or Web, please enlighten me.
(not that I pay any attention to them unless your last name is Roberts or Bignell or Venezis or...)

Can't help thinking if it was made for the BBC they would have to give their permission for it to be used as clips. So how secret could it be ? Perdhaps it's what they did first before they were given The Reign of Terror. By the way I love the DVD cover, but what on earth has it done to the whole of page 3 of this thread when you view it on an iPad ? The pictures giant and the rest of the text is microscopic ? It's because the DVD cover image as enormous, so the page width had to increase to accommodate it. This is why embedding images is often banned on some forums. Fixed now.

Surely any "lost" releases (or animations) would be announced well before November so that they can be released by end of year thus maximising sales from the 50th anniv push?

Thank you for the music......I mean knowledge.

Not a problem - it's probably a good idea to post links rather than embed as a rule though, even for smaller pictures, especially as there is no Spoiler code here to hide the images.

The Pertwee clips are a red herring. They are certainly not from missing episodes, as you say, so are likely to have been done for an entirely differnt project. The Pertwee clips are from longer cartoons that used to be on YouTube a while back, where they'd taken dialogue from Pertwee episodes and made scenes with them; there were some bits that were impressive, but a lot of it really didn't suit the source material.

There was talk that a whole list of episodes had come back; it would have been some time after the Sierra Leone story hit, as the version I heard was that the "archive has been destroyed" story was a cover for the real story that this list of episodes had come back. Can't recall the full list off the top of my head. One of the many flaws in the story was that of those Dr Whos listed something like 3/4 were never sold to Sierra Leone...

This is interesting! But if the clip of Lesterson is from linking animation in a still-secret "Power Of The Daleks" release, why is it in colour rather than monochrome?

Much more likely it's from some sort of animation demo thing, just to show what they're capable of achieving.

I'm gonna stick my neck out,but after reading the Moffat interview in the current issue of DWM I think they've found Power 1.It sort of goes along with other articles that sight this episode as the No.1 sought after segment of the series and backs up the current rumours. Also,he say 'WHEN he goes back in time' he'll secrete it under his jumper..who's with me?'.It'll be interesting to see if I'm right....

This is interesting! But if the clip of Lesterson is from linking animation in a still-secret "Power Of The Daleks" release, why is it in colour rather than monochrome? There's no need for it to be in colour at all. Maybe they did it for a reason, maybe not; we can only surmise. Just as important, if it were part of a secret project it wouldn't be be on their home page for all to see. You'd think not but it still doesn't rule it out. Things occasionally slip through the net that shouldn't. Or maybe they simply didn't anticipate anyone being so eagle-eyed? The fact is, we just don't know, so your guess is no better and no worse than mine.
