Just as an aside, not off topic exactly, but were the photos used in the 1964 Dalek Book Photo Story taken from the film print? I have tried to look this up on't'internet and I sadly don't have my Dalek Book to hand to check against the video. I hate to say this, but if you get the new issue of Nothing at the End of the Lane, you can find out exactly where those photographs came from! ;D

I seem to remember a couple from The Daleks, taken by Dicky Howett, which appeared in DWM. Can't say I remember those appearing in DWM, Rob. Yes, I remember those. They appeared as a "question" in Matrix Data Bank, "what story do these come from?". I couldn't say what issue number or the year, but IIRC it was towards the end of John Freeman's time as editor, so mid 1990s?

I've been through all the issues from 161-207 (last couple of years of John's editorship and first couple of Gary's) and I've not found them yet...

If it wasn't Matrix Data Bank, maybe in the letters column? But the way the piece was presented, I'm sure it was MDB... There were two pictures. One of them shows Barbara holding what Howett thought looked like a "cake", which was in fact the first aid kit.

So are these photos off-air photos from The Daleks??? Yes, they are off-screen, as you can see the TV scan lines. The first is from episode 2, and the other two seem to be from part four.

Would you be able to scan the images in and post them somewhere on here?

There is an off-air photo of Evil (part 5 I think), which was printed in Space and Time (as I believe it was then called, the magazine prior to In-Vision) in their Evil of the Daleks edition. I used to have it but I sold my collection some years ago. Richard You can buy it here www.heroesassemble.com/doctor-who-the-evil-of-the-daleks-cms-in-vision-rare-1310-p.aspIt's not a good picture (Jeremy Bentham must surely have the original) and apart from collector's value this is a very flimsy magazine which I would hardly say was worth the money now .... no disrespect to the original publishers - if you want to spend £30 - go for it.

"Sorry, this item is out of stock" Oh, the irony Concerning the previous discussions, I think that is very helpful that it has been clarified as to which off-air photos from missing (and extant) episodes are printed where. I'm glad to hear that several of these are being printed again in NATEOTL 3 (Thanks Richard Bignell!), alongside the previously unprinted ones. Trying to track down old copies of the magazines/fanzines where they were first published at a reasonable price is a nightmare - much like trying to find Volumes 3 & 4 of 'Doctor Who at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop' or 'Devils' Planets' below £50. Concerning the Troughton close-up from the Web of Fear, it would be excellent news if we were able to recover this picture. Richard (Develyn - there are lots of Richards on this forum , I think that it would be well worth attempting to trace Terry if there's a chance that he could still have a copy of the photo, especially as it doesn't look like DWM has it any more (unless for some reason they didn't send it on to NATEOTL - maybe it's filed away somewhere separately?)

Thank you Richard Bignell for the scanned page! Now I have a few more questions I would like to ask. (And I'm sorry if you feel like I' keep asking too many questions, I just really want to find out more!)
1) Are the images from The Daleks off-air or telesnap? 2) If they are off-air are there any more off-air images from The Daleks?
These questions are about the Marco Polo images?
1) Do we know from which broadcast these images were taken in Australia? (Or for that matter which broadcast these images weren't taken from?) 2) Someone mentioned one of the eight Marco Polo images turning out to be from another serial. Is this true? 3) Has the image from The Aztecs which was found alongside these images been piublished? If so where?
