Lyrics from the song What is Love? by Haddaway! You have to know it before you hear it but yes I see what you mean. On the other hand, I keep thinking the background choir in Adele's "When we were young" are singing "exterminate... exterminate...". Has anyone else noticed that the instrumental bit at the start of Gimme Shelter sounds like Pretty Polly on repeat...... No, ah well. 😂😂

If you find the original videotape then that alone would be the definitive version. You misunderstand. Some of the Pertwee colourizations were possible because they found domestic videotape recorded from a broadcast in America. They took the colour signal from the tape, and combined it with the high quality monochrome version that existed, to produce a high quality colour version.
So, some episodes have had colour restored by chroma dots. If they found a domestic video recording of any of these episodes, could they make a better colour version?
Oh I see, you're not talking about broadcast tapes. But you did ask about it being versus a manually colourised episode (which would infer colourising frame by frame like Mind of Evil 1). Well, ultimately it would depend on the quality of the tape and the quality of the chroma dots on the episode in question. A lot of the Ambassadors of Death off-air tape is unusable due to interference, for example. Ultimately it's possible - having two sources is most likely to be better than one, if even in part - quite a few colourisations are a patchwork of different sources and techniques. The answer will always be a 'maybe'.

I also consider the Pertwee episodes complete with the exception of IOTD1, given the complete collection bluray sets coming out over the next few years it would be a shame if this last remaining episode wasn't fully colourised, I would hope that it's a priority for someone? In total agreement here. Some of the patchy colour restorations are problems, particularly Ambassadors and Silurians (this one always annoyed me), but having first seen these serials in B&W, the switch to colour has been convincing enough for my brain (keeping in mind these are 70s episodes and the B&W ones aired on ABC Australia had chroma dots and other interference). So for me, only IOTD is a complete distraction and represents a partially complete story, as it is still a jarring experience when placed alongside the other 5 episodes. Not a coherent whole.

Hi everyone been following the forum for years but this is my first time posting.I have to say I generally did consider pertwee complete but having received my season 8 collection this week it was changed my mind some what. Despite some amazing efforts on Terror of the Autons it sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the quality of other stories in the range and even other stories from this particular set. And this is in no way a slant on the amazing work that has been done by the restoration team or me being ungrateful for what we do have. Just a wishing that the material they had to work with was better. So unless they find another source of colour signal for Terror of the Autons or the daemons (not the mention most of season 7) or the process to hand colour like mind of evil 1 becomes cheaper/easier to do I won't see pertwee as complete.

I've just watched Terror, funnily enough, on a huge tv. The film parts were rather grainy; the video parts were ok, but I noticed a lot of purple bleed around the edges.

Hi Richard, when you say a large TV, what size are you talking about? Large depends on the individual's take. Some people think 42" is large. I actually have a 60" in my second bedroom after upgrading to a 70" for the living room. My son has just purchased an 86", and what can I say, I'm thinking about it For me when it comes to TV's, size does matter

I’ve got 32” - feeling inadequate.......
In terms of complete Pertwee seasons to release I’d have probably started with Ten.

Man my "small" TV is a 32 inch TV. I remember back in the 1980's a 27 inch CRT multi system was a large as you can get. My big TV is 43 inches and I do eventually want to upgrade to at least 60 inches

My main set is 32" because there' only room for a TV in the corner of my lounge & a bigger one won't fit.
If I get the chance to move somewhere bigger I buy a bigger TV, my wife as been asking about getting a larger one.

The multi system TV in my man cave is only 32 inch's simply because the cabinet that it sits in was made in 1990 and wont fit a bigger TV, if I ever go for a wall mount then the thirty two inch model is toast that is for sure

I've been going through a rough patch since my wife suffered a Major Stroke in August 2019. It has resulted in my having to take early retirement, as I'm now her fulltime carer 24/7. And it does help your mental health if, and it's a big if (funds permitting), you can administer some self retail therapy
