Friends, surely this can only mean that the final announcement is on the horizon? - obversebooks.co.uk/product/chasing-shadows/This can't only be a book about a search that culminated in 9 recovered episodes and 1 stolen episode? I mean, I'd read a book about that - it's impressive enough - but we were told last year that the search is winding down, and now this book is coming out??? What else is there left to write about? If this book is going to reveal all, it surely follows that an announcement will come beforehand, to coincide with the books release? With no new series this year and the news about Bill released, there would never be a better time than now for the next batch of discoveries to be given the full spotlight. A now we have this rumour circulating at conventions etc. that the i-tunes releases will begin with the heavy-weight release of "Power of the Daleks", this November! - forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1823267&page=244 If this and the rumour of Peter Cushing's return to Star Wars are both true, then 2016 is going to be a year long remembered by fans of sci-fi!

I think the key word in that post is "rumour".
Actually the thing that piqued my interest was "the news about Bill released". What news was that exactly?

Surely if the book is out in Summer (this year), why on earth would they wait until November to announce a find if the book is coming out in the next month? However, I'm sure it will be a fascinating read!

This book announcement was made ages ago. I think it had an original release date, from several months back, that was changed/put on hold. Saying 'summer 2016' isn't exactly a firm release date either.
The author had a mock up of the cover on his twitter account in July 2015!
He did a podcast interview a while back that was very interesting and gives hope that there may be more finds to be revealed. Looking forward to the book when it finally comes out.

This is beginning to sound very silly and familiar. Hmm ...
"Silly?? SILLY!! Silly! I suppose it is, a bit. What have we been doing wasting our lives with all this nonsense? Right, okay, meeting adjourned forever." - G. Chapman (deceased)

what 'news about bill released' ? I'll bite. What news about what news about what news about Bill? I blame R.D.Laing... Bill is the new companion in the next series of Dr Who. It was announced during half-time at the last FA Cup Final. Shame Peter Purves never got the same treatment - (From andydrewz64.blogspot.co.uk link)

If I had a pound for every rumour about returned missing episodes I'd ever read that turned out to be wrong, I'd have enough money to finance building a time machine to go back to the 60s, set up a video recorder and bring the episodes back myself...

Bleedingcool don't know a thing, look at their post about Dad's Army: www.bleedingcool.com/2013/08/09/dads-army-the-smoking-gun-for-doctor-who-missing-episodes/They saw the following page while it was still under construction (it's complete now) and figured it was proof that episodes had been found: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007tlxv/episodes/guideWhile in fact it's simply a case of not every BBC show ever made being listed (yet). Compare this one which has an incomplete and incorrect listing (while no episodes of this show itself are missing): www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b008522p/episodes/guideThat doesn't show a lot of effort to seriously investigate or to give a reliable report. And finally, why would they be DW episodes? Perhaps he's found something completely different. DW has a really good survival rate. Not that I don't like the old fool, but many other missing shows might actually be more deserving of re(dis)covery.

Not that I don't like the old fool, but many other missing shows might actually be more deserving of re(dis)covery. Bleeding Cool didn't create the 90 episode 'rumour'. And this article was just aftermath conjecture on the writer's part, nothing to do with the 'omni-rumour' - www.bleedingcool.com/2013/08/09/dads-army-the-smoking-gun-for-doctor-who-missing-episodes/There has been plenty of aftermath time wasting theories since the 'omni-rumour'. Best to have left at the 'omni-rumour' story and wait patiently for it to all unfold over the years. Better still if the story hadn't leaked out in the first place. And no, as Phil pointed out last year, it isn't all DW episodes. There's far more completely different material than just Dr Who that was sent out to different parts of the world.
