Dave, I was merely stating your book is not authorised (i.e. anything official from either the BBC or Philip Morris) as the O. P. was convinced it was linked to an imminent major announcement! As it happens, I do know more than you think about your book after you invited me to be interviewed for it, which unfortunately we couldn't make happen due to us being on other sides of the world.
However, I'm really looking forward to getting a copy when it is eventually published (will be the first book I've read in years LOL) and as for getting your last name wrong, it happens to me all the time as well, which is why I use a different one for professional purposes these days. If I can, I'll edit my original post to correct the error.

As I said at the time, even if the Omnirumour was true, the restoration process is incredibly long. If the Restoration Team worked flat out with no breaks and decent quality films, they would have finished probably just a few months ago. Being in any way realistic, it would be 2018 or 2019 before we heard anything. In reality, that isn't how it would work though. The existing DW material that was released on DVD wasn't all prepared in advance and then released. It was done gradually a few months in advance of when it was required for an upcoming title. Even if all the missing episodes had been located, there would be no reason to expect them to have all gone through complete restoration prior to any announcement being made. If that many episodes were recovered, they'd be released gradually, and restored in that manner as well. Not that any episodes have been worked on since Enemy and Web three years ago. So Marco Polo was worked on prior to Enemy and Web?

Oh, I see that Phil Morris and Dick Fiddy will be appearing together at the Starburst Film Festival in Manchester on August 27. I wonder what they will have to say! Wouldn't it be wonderful if they had missing episodes of Doctor Who to show at the festival? But none have been worked on unfortunately.

Well lets hope this time he actually has something to announce, even if its non-Who material. Theres very little point attending these events to speak and sign, which whips up all kinds of excitement and anticipation if theres nothing to tell. If theres nothing to tell or anything retrieved, or nothing exciting in the pipeline, then its kinder to stay away as the disapointment is dreadfull.

Phil Morris finds films. Dick Fiddy restores films. This is a film festival. It would therefore make sense for them to bring a film of some sort (assuming they have one to show, which I strongly suspect they do).

You know Douglas....methinks you know a lot more than you would like us to think... I really don't though! It's just that Phil Morris and others have conducted this global search and the results of the effort must be revealed (even if only partially) at some point. It seems to me that Mr. Morris and Mr. Fiddy will probably have more to say and more to show than just to recount yet again how the episodes of Enemy and Web were found in Jos and how that episode of the Sky at Night with Arthur C. Clark was located. Yes, that might happen, but I just suspect that more than that will be shared.

I think you are probably right. After all these many years, if nothing else had materialised, there would have to have been a point when all concerned would need to decide if the costs, risks etc were worth it. Plus I cant quite forget that slightly interesting comment from Worldwide about some exciting Who releases at the end of the year. Im feeling positive about this, and its about time something was revealed.

None of us know if any episodes have been worked on, except for... Also, that's Philip Martin, not Morris! (RUN! - GangstersGangsters at 40 with Philip Martin and Dick Fiddy) - link
