That's a new one to me. Is it worth some of us bidding on this one i wonder?

Thought that was the case when i saw it, thanks Ray.
I've looked through the nearest surviving totp's "2nd May 74" & "6th June 74" (clips only), and there are no signs of that background.
I thought the strike didn't start till mid june though?
The only thing i can suggest is, this is not the totp regular studio?

Never seen that background on totp before though. www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/84894303/RedfernsIt's certainly nothing like the background from 1st may 1974. Although i suspect that that date is wrong, looks more like the 'come up and see me' era.

What is the following clip on this reel?. There is a brief still at the end of the clip from another performance. see below. anyone identify the guitar?

As the current re-run is nearing it's end, does anyone have any info on whether einsfestival will show any more totp's in the new year?

as discussed here sometime ago, the 'Beat Beat Beat' DVD's were not official releases. so the quality was not much better than VHS. Are you sure Paul, you are saying that Lovefilm are renting out unofficial DVDs?Found the original thread and quoting 'Oliver Roemer' Lovefilm have withdrawn some of those DVD's now. I tried to hire one and it is now 'unavailable'. Amazon is still selling them though Here's the thread missingepisodes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=totp&action=display&thread=4901&page=1

There's a thread somewhere on here about the unaired beat club/musikladen sessions. They were 'rehersal' footage that is still held in bremen's archive. some shows were broadcast last year with some of the clips in, but it's the first time The Move's Words of Aaron has been shown. As you probably know 'Ella James' was shown on one of the broadcasts last year.

Since that was a dead end, i wonder what became of Johnny Walkers's video collection when he went to the US?

Brilliant stuff. Also the documentary that was on svt this week featured the first airing of The Move's Words of Aaron from the unaired sessions for Beat Club.

Like I say, to anyone who's interested, who has a bit of money to chuck away, who isn't afraid to connect a few things together and turn the power on, (OK, who possibly isn't married,) I'd say have a go. . Never a truer word spoken!

from memory, only the sound survives from a home recorded cassette tape but the source of the photo still remians a mystery. It's definately from totp It's from 4th January 1973. This is where the photo was published: (from wonderworld) - "If you look at the photograph, which is taken from page 60 in the 'Moonage Daydream' book by Dave Thompson" The book was published in 1987 so the chance of tracing it's source will be remote. It does appear to be a screen grab from some sort of telerecording of the clip. However it's possible that it was a photo taken from the tv at the time. I've seen similar photos with that purplish tint which were taken from a b&w tv though i'm no photographic expert. Here's the clip (you need realplayer to hear it, or download and play with vlc player.) www.bowiewonderworld.com/sounds/TOTP72.rm
