Great news! 10 more recoveries in less than a month. Even is they are all dupes, it's still an incredible find. Who knows, perhaps a few more in the near future...? Congrats to both Ian & Phil! Thank goodness the recent finds have renewed hopes that undiscovered prints are still out there and re-energized efforts to find these treasures before it is too late!!

The owner of the films has come forward. He is in Taiwan and looks legit. Jaspal my thoughts exactly. Poker my friend ! I'm the guy who put Ian and Paul in contact with the person in Taiwan and now that he's come forward publicly I'll give some more background. Keith is a radio presenter and producer, originally from Canada, who has worked around the world -mostly in shortwave radio, and has been based in Asia for the past 15 years or so. He's lived in Taiwan for a few years where he now owns a small English language radio station and has founded an independent shortwave station and radio production company called PCJ. I came across as a result of my own interest in shortwave radio when Keith revived something called the Happy Station Show, a light entertainment show that originally ran on shortwave out of Holland from 1928 until 1995. On his version of the show, Keith aired an eclectic array of music and interviews but also archival radio recordings which he'd acquired over the years in his travels. I became his Facebook friend and one time when he mentioned his collecting I asked him if by chance he'd ever picked up any Doctor Who episodes in his travels. He said he had but he didn't know the names of the actual episodes and taking time away from his various work and projects to going across town to sort through what I imagine is a largely uncatalogued collection of boxes didn't seem to be a priority for him. About a year later, after the Nigerian discoveries hit the news, I brought it up again and then got into contact with Ian since I thought with his backg;round as a music producer he'd be better able to establish a rapport with Keith than I was (Keith hosts or has hosted several music shows on the radio and has fairly eclectical musical interests and in my mind I thought Keith might be interested in interviewing Ian on some aspect of his career and that in exchange Ian would be able to persuade Keith to sort through his material in storage and find out what he actually had Doctor Who wise, if anything - I had suspected they might be reels of one of the Peter Cushing films but thought it was worth pursuing just in case). Anyway, my point is, Keith is for real. He mostly collects audio and he's put some of it up on one of his pages here: pcjmedia.com/archives

Ah well, I lost my shot at infamy my guess. I wish I'd thought of contacting Ian a year earlier but I hadn't come across him on Twitter yet so it didn't occur to me.

Also, I have to say that I know a lot of people in fandom give Ian a real hard time but I think he has to be given credit for not only being a real believer in the program but being willing to put himself on the line for it. He had every reason to dismiss my lead out of hand when I approached him given that Taiwan is not a country anyone would have had any reason to think of looking but he threw himself into it and put all his time and emotional energy and persuasive skill into it. And frankly, if it hadn't been for that energy and focus decades ago we'd have far more missing episodes today because even if Ian not only saved episodes from being junked and recovered other episodes that had been thought lost, but he started a movement that motivated others to look.

We must remember that the vast majority of people just don't know. Here's a guy with episodes, one missing (until recently), he knows he has them, but he just didn't understand their significance. The odds say there's more out there.

Andy do you have any additional info on where the prints originated from? We have heard mention of Vietnam etc.

I appreciate what has been done in locating these prints.
At this point, I'm waiting for Paul to fill us in.
While some may try to be secretive, this is ians find and I believe it would be a diservice to ian to not keep people up to date on What is happening.
Paul has had the original lead for while and I dont remember hearing him say anything about this area of investigation.

Back on January 1st he said he was investigating the situation. I'm sure he's on top of it.

Thanks Andy. This whole situation is bizarre. Who would have thought TWO copies of Enemy 6 would turn up. Anyone care to bet on a third within 6 months? ;-)

Well they can now attempt to trace how many film copies of Enemy of the World were sent out by BBC Enterprises and try and whittle down to find the source of this one.
