There are 62 potential returns from Zambia I believe. That's if they kept all the Dr. Who episodes they screened.

Session 2 should've finished at 19.20; but I've heard nothing about what was screened. Very frustrating! Especially as I had a ticket for tonight's MBW; but was reluctantly unable to attend

Dick Fiddy of the BFI has confirmed that over 10,000 film cans have been returned from Zambia ykes! plus these are not 'cultural heritage' items, I guess this means that they are not films that TIE are restoring/stabalising for another broadcaster, but returned British programs He said no such thing. At the moment it appears that nobody has any idea as to what has been recovered. Reading between the lines I get the impression that he has basically being going into every film store/archive he can and gathering up everything of UK origin

'Shipped' as in transported Iirc, stuff was transported viz Zambia to Nigeria and then on to Liverpool. IF PM found stuff in other countries too, and there was a lot, it would make sense to get it all transported to one place, say Zambia, (where the search may have began and where he may have set up a base of operations) then from there to a place it could all be shipped out. So, from Zambia doesn't necessarily mean all the stuff that PM has, came from there, as we know some has come from Nigeria too. I'd be more than gobsmacked if in 10000 tins or more there was no more missing Who. I've said before now, that Paul V is suspiciously asbent from here these days. And possibly even commented "feverishly working away on restoring stuff" Maybe someone has time to have a look in the Africa threads, but I seem to recall Paul actually posting along the lines of "there is nothing there now" or w/e (re Zambia) Anyway, by the sounds of it, the future looks VERY bright indeed. Just a matter of IF the Who stuff is actually recoverable.

Am I understanding things right? Is this the first MBW event where nothing concrete was announced as found? Nothing but more speculation and mystery?

The only mention of Philip Morris, with clips, was in the Session One documentary where talking heads, including Dick Fiddy, speculated - and that's what it was - about what he might have found. They had no definite figures for number of programmes, maybe hundreds/thousands, or what might be there. Christopher Perry, of this parish, might be along later - he was in the documentary.
In the second half there was some BBC3, TOTP, Lulu, Mirkit and Dido, etc.

Yes, I wish we could get a full report of exactly what was said.
Am waiting for a friend who attended the event to get back to me with all the details.

Glad I didn't get a ticket then! What a damp squib I enjoyed both sessions Just because someone doesn't say that dozens of episodes of Dr Who have come back from Timbukthree doesn't mean it wasn't a good event.
