Sigh...Ian will probably go back to lurking in silence again tomorrow.... His very words,of course, should nothing be delivered (to quote Dylan). And on that note, could we hear from someone who is on GB? I'm passing on information (hah!) at third-hand.

I applied for a GB account the other day but I'm still waiting for it to be approved do I can't help there... But apparently this date has been bounding about on there but it could be absolutely anything, I guess in about just over 24 hours we'll be able to look back at ourselves now and wonder whether this little discussion was all worth it

I should go back on previous posts, but which site was it which had declared a moratorium on the subject of found episodes?

My fault for trying to do one thing at once,Mike.I should have said "previous post".Five or six days ago?Though I have to admit I've read all the posts on this and similar threads-don't ask why-I'm by no means in the loop.Loopy,maybe... I seem to remember that it was said that one of the (two) big DW forums had put a halt, for a time at least,on discussions.

I'm on GB, and I'm not seeing "literally tons" of people insisting it's the 17th for an announcement. A few are speculating there *might* be an announcement today, largely because they've read Ian's tweets and assumed he's got some insider knowledge!
So he's saying it because he's read it on GB, the GB people are saying it because Ian's saying it. My own belief is that there's been a find, but this particular circuit is ridiculous!
Edited to add: and it's all blown itself out now.

In my heart I think we will have at least one missing episode returned in time for the anniversary. However, some of the constant 'immanent announcements' of which some are daily are becoming laughable from certain individuals.
If something has been returned then we will know in good time - people constantly asking questions to those connected to the show in any format will not make any announcement come any sooner.
Hold tight, have some faith, but celebrate this great television programme's anniversary regardless.

My feelings exactly. And if it is all baloney,I personally have loved all the speculation and intrigue!I have begun picturing in my mind's eye actually seeing long lost Troughton on my television screen-just a daydream I must add. It's odd seeing rarely screened Dr.Who after such a long time-ROT,The Ice Warriors with it's Georgian interiors juxtaposed against icy, futuristic exteriors. If episodes which haven't been screened since they were transmitted do turn up,they will seem out of place in our oft-watched Dr.Who universe. It would take a while for our focus to become trained on them and find new gems amongst them. But hey, this is all conjecture, just talking out loud about how we would view these finds after 40 plus years.Personally I love the ROT having seen it for the 1st time on DVD.

I see that the R2 release of Tenth Planet has been moved to Oct 14th according to Sainsburys and Zavvi. No change on the Amazon or bbcshop websites though.
If true, that would mean no DVD release in November.
Curious...

So I wouldn't believe anything until we hear something through official channels.
