Visiting Bleeding Cool for news on missing episodes is like reading the Sunday Sport for incisive political commentary.

Pay NO interest in anything Rich Johnston says. He's no more in the know than any of us. He's also known to steal information from people on this site and claim it's his own news.

I wouldn't be surprised if it IS POTD that has been found,it's the one serial that's been mentioned all along, from Anneke Will's comments at the convention,Steven Moffat's cryptic statement in DWM earlier this year to the 'finger crossed!'remark by Toby Hadoke in response to Philip Morris's most wanted recovered story on the ROT commentary. It might be the entire serial or only the first episode but that's the most likely recovery to my mind-and it's been around for a while. But at the end of the day,is it in such poor condition to be actually playable?

Unfortunately nothing seems to have moved very far from when the stories started around June. Those latest links to BC merely prove we are still at the stage of "so and so respected fan says he's seen x missing episodes" - i.e. yet more unsubstantiated rumour!

Wasn't it around late June? They did indeed issue a statement - that was worded so as to remain ambiguous.

Oh please, do we really have to go down this road yet again..? To be fair Rob, I think this thread has been about going back down the same roads over and over and over and over again in recent times - no offence! I think "to infinity and beyond" is sounding like an appropriate quote...

If there are missing episodes that have been recovered, we will find out either when Terror of the Zygons is released or sometime shortly around Nov. 23rd. That seems a rather odd theory. Why would we find out when Terror of the Zygons release tell us anything? By then various copies would have been floating around with various people for weeks. Surely we'd hear before then. But really ... why would anyone simply let something slip out like that randomly? Besides, the next release after Terror of the Zygons is Complete Series 7 ... seems simple to put a Coming Soon for that one on. And shortly before November 23rd? Why? That seems rather unlikely ... it would get lost in the media attention on the 50th anniversary. If there's announcement pending, I'd think it would be in the next 6 weeks. If not, then it could be months or years away, when they've finished searching in Africa. The Africa search has been ongoing for about 8 years now ... I would say we are looking at weeks rather than years. Remember this is the worst kept secret ever in doctor who. The cat is now out of the bag and anybody with good intelligent reasoning and analysis skills can work it out easily. I see no reason in dragging this on for a few more years. Either announce or issue a denial until its time to announce.

I for one am happy to sit tight till November. All this speculation gets us all no where. Why should the BBC issue any statements until they are ready? While lots of people on forums think they know whats going on most of the general public will be blistfully unaware of the rumours so any announcement done at an appropriate time will come as a complete surprise

I don't mind waiting for an announcement, be it November or later. Even if these rumours all come to nothing (I hope they don't, but not losing sleep over it), at least I got the CD's, so what I can't see I can still listen to. And there's those magazines printing the tele-snaps.
Mind you, I know it's off topic, but I wished the magazines covered all the tele-snaps instead of cutting some out. But hey, at least we can see MOST of them. I guess for novelty-reasons, it'd be nice to see the snaps of existing episodes too, like The Gunfighters or Tomb of the Cybermen, just to see what Cura's pics looked like for those stories.

If there has been a multi-episode find and the BBC were keeping it as a surprise, which I'd love to believe but I kind of doubt, then they would aim for November 23 I am sure. There's no other imaginable reason for keeping a done, episodes in the bank, deal quiet.
Nov 23 or quits I reckon.
Fingers crossed though :-)
