Yes,but all these comic analogies to the state of the archives and general missing episode artefacts isn't progressing this thread one jot,nor are they alerting posters to the fact that in the past 48 hours many,in my opinion, innocuous posts and an entire thread have been deleted, and for what reason?Yeah, great,a new rumours thread, but it's providing jack sh*t to the posters signed up to this site.Very, very unsatisfying state of affairs IMHO!Deliberate and consistent deletion of posts does nobody any favours and only deepens the feeling of conspiracies behind the rumours,as well as making posters feel that even posting on this site is a complete waste of time! Did you get out of bed the wrong side this morning? Good grief... People are just making light of the situation, which is no bad thing. Let's face it, that's preferable to some of what's been posted in previous threads on the subject. As for post deletions, they've been made for entirely justifiable reasons and not for reasons that suggest any suppression of information. Generally they have been deleted because people were picking on each other, which contravenes the forum rules. As for Paul's accidental deletion of the thread, it seems sad to me that people are questioning what was clearly a slip of the trigger finger. Paul's a very intelligent chap and would know that his deletion of the thread could easily be misinterpreted by those who seem obsessed by conspiracy theories, so therefore it had to be an accident. I think we should accept that with good grace and move on. But Alan,at least 3 posts concerning the latest BC page were deleted, even before Paul deleted the entire thread, including my own innocuous reply to the original post ( late on Saturday night )!What's to be made of that then...?

I don't believe anything has been returned. Lots of chat, no evidence. What do I believe is going on? Simple circular repetition of the same information gradually embellished in the telling by people who want to look 'in the know' and privy to 'important information' from "trusted sources". It's all poppycock based on wish fulfilment fantasies with not a scrap of evidence. The word I am reading a lot here is 'belief'. Not 'knowledge'. Please don't let the non-return of long destroyed prints spoil your enjoyment of the 50th celebrations! My motto is still "Never Say Never", but I very much tend to agree.

I've been a board board moderator for a brief spell and occasionally accidentally deleted posts. I doubt there is any real controversy.

I think if something is truly returned we will find out when we need know. I personally prefer no more then a year before DVD release but I imagine due to our "I need to know now" culture it'll probably be sooner that. It does seem like leads are being followed through on and maybe something will turn up eventually.

I will not believe any statement to the effect that anything has been found that is based on
a) anonymous 'sources' (unverifiable); b) members of the RT/BBC/DW production team talking about the rumours we are discussing in the first place (does not constitute proof of anything); c) anything published on BC (a site whose disclaimer even says its content contains gossip!).

I haven't seen evidence of that happening (not saying it hasn't), but quite honestly, the less publicity BC gets out of all this, the better. The continued 'reporting' of rumour and hearsay there is doing no-one any good, and only stoking a situation that is either nonsensical or is being kept under wraps for very good reason. Whichever of those eventualities is true, the 'journalism' on show there is not helping things at all.

Yes.
I'm deleting all references to BC on the grounds that he took without permission comments of mine from Gallifrey Base and posted them as a 'story' on his site. Those comments were for the users of GB, not for him to pinch. He's been banned from here and there and there is no way I'll tolerate any comments or linking to his site on here. I'm sorry if people don't like that, but he has treated me badly, so he'll be ignored from here in future.
It was a post about BC that I thought I was deleting when I deleted the thread I'm afraid :-(
For those that are wondering why I am not responding immediately to posts, it's because I started yesterday in Birmingham, finished yesterday in Plymouth and I'm now in Suffolk. I have a very busy few weeks filming so contact and moderation of the forum from my end will be a bit hit and miss.

Fair enough, Paul. Enjoy the project.
And, for what it's worth, I wouldn't blame you if you accidentally deleted this thread: the banal "comedy" posts have made this rather a tedious read. Sorry, folks, but I'm a plain man and speak as I find...

I hope this is ok to say, but at this point, I kinda feel for Paul.
He's trying to help us out and because of stupid rumor sites asking him to comment on every move he makes, it might be interrupting his efforts which could affect everyone.
I can understand politely asking for clarification, but putting him under interrogation is unhelpful and beneficial.
Whether episodes are recovered doesn't compare to the importance of treating others right.. and I hope we all will focus on respect, dignity regardless of rumors.
Whatever leads are out there that he is following up on, that's his business. Why cant people just leave him alone??
Sorry about that.. just dont like how people are treating others.

Mike, we don't do "heard from a friend of a friend" gossip here. Frankly, if "that site" does run with it, it will just cement further their reputation as an unreliable bunch of gossip-mongering stirrers.
