Sorry,R.I was going by Lostshow's comment that 'of 6 shows, none are missing, but 4 are incomplete".

Sorry,R.I was going by Lostshow's comment that 'of 6 shows, none are missing, but 4 are incomplete". On updating lostshows, I've given up. Technically it's true because incomplete can cover a wide range of meanings, from just missing end credits to only a TV trailer in existance.

Seems network won't respond to my offer. But anyway, the items I all hope to see are: - episode 1a (early home video system) - episode 1b (early home video system) - episode 1 (16mm), start is missing, but restorable with a bit of editing and 2 of the filmed inserts - episode 2 (16mm) - Filmed inserts (16mm) - Twice a fortnight: Battle of Hastings (16mm) Together this is just about 2.5 hours.

Interesting. It still remains to be seen if they won't miss any footage (they didn't respond to my email offering free advice).

They might overlook the 16mm of episode 1 and the bit from Twice a Fortnight. A BFI flyer once suggested that a download of episode 2 was used for the screening, I hope that's not the case.

Would be nice if the Twice a Fortnight material is included. There can't be too many other possible ways it can be released....

Because I have a lot of information, I tried to contact them in every way except by post or phone, but they have totally ignored me. There is a message on their facebook page too, feel free to add your support to that.

I think they'd do worse than to call it "The (in)Complete and Utter History of Britain", to avoid any confusion or disappointment from people expecting the entire series. They must've heard you, because this is what the cover looks like at the moment: Actually I preferred the first design ( here). This one looks like they simply reused the original promotional artwork without really bothering for more. Original ticket (link)...

The Network blurb will be the correct one (i.e. two episodes as transmitted plus two early edits with extra untransmitted material and Terry Jones' film inserts). Speaking of the film inserts, Network indicates some stills as examples of how nice these clips look - but they're in colour (the series was in b/w)! Does this mean the inserts were shot in colour, I wonder? A nice surprise if so.

What worried me,Lawrence, was that the BBFC usually covers everything, including "making of" features, animated menues, etc.,but all we got was the two standard episodes:
Part 1: 25:39. Part 2: 25:21.
Certificate issued 8/4/2013,which was cutting it rather fine...
p.s.Am I right in thinkink that the larger Network photo-the one with the longjohns-is a still, but the other is from footage? Network say "Here is AN example" of the quality of what's offered...
