It seems that our friends who hold the large cache of TOTP tapes which they won't part with except for ridiculous prices are at it again. They have been in touch with a prominent Abba fan requesting £300 for a three-min DVD containing the lost clip. They have attached a screenshot as proof. The fans seem to be desperately trying to summon up the cash

sad and angry in equal measure

(But then I guess there's a risk of the material being destroyed)

The BBC pretty much won't buy anything.
Now if one of the higher paid stars takes a one-hour pay cut....

What a waste of money the BBC have spent on Planet Earth Live. If only they had just bought this collection instead. I bet the sum would be a drop in the ocean compared to what is being spent on this lavish nature show that people are knocking off in their droves.

I can see what this seller is doing here. If he contacts different fan clubs about clips that he has then he is much more likely to get some cash back than trying to sell the clips to an individual. After all £300 is only £3 each if 100 Abba fans each contribute.
I imagine it wouldnt be hard to find 100 Abba fans willing to contribute to get their hands on such a rare clip if an appeal was put on a fan website

I don't normally get involved in this argument but all I'll say is that the clip of The Move performing 'California Man' that was found in BBC Scotland was the perfect addition to the anniversary release of 'Message From The Country'. It didn't happen because the Beeb requested a 5 figure sum for it's use. They're all as bad as each other in my view. Sadly.....

It was a fan trying to drum up interest in buying the footage.

This actually isnt anything to do with the ABBA Fanclub...its a fangroup, lead by a lady that has a seriously indepth and well researched website that catalogues each and every ABBA appearance since Noah was a boy. This has been one of those , does it exist or doesnt it clips,,as the BBC records were a little hazy, and now that we know it does , obviously we dearly need it for the website and posterity.
