I'm sure I have seen a snippet of this, and I don't recall it from original transmission.

I'm sure I have seen a snippet of this, and I don't recall it from original transmission. It was on TV Hell.

But it hasn't been on TOTP2 and that short TV Hell clip apart, never been repeated since it's original broadcast. Same situation with The Shadows in 1965 - a 30 second clip gets used but the whole performance still sits there on the BBC shelves.

Also Peter, Paul and Mary from 1965 exists as an insert tape, but hasn't been seen.

It's interesting being reminded of all these oddments I'd forgotten about. Two more oddments from Christmas 65 era - an alternate film clip of The Seekers "Carnival Is Over" and I'm sure I've read there's a Barron Knights performance from that time as well. Would be good to see those along with Peter, Paul and Mary and The Shadows from 1965.
A definite vote for the 1970 Herman's Hermits and 1971 Peter Noone clips plus the 1970 Family performance.
Does anyone have any kind of a list of the various isolated TOTP film inserts from the early 70's? I remember seeing that quite a few of those existed on Infax but only one I can remember is Shag's "Loop Di Love" which I seriously doubt would ever be considered.
Oh, and Georgie Fame's "Ballad Of Bonnie and Clyde" though not sure if the BBC or BFI have it, and from the 1973 show discovered at the BFI, Roxy Music's "Street Life!"

Another vote for Herman's Hermits - Years May Come (1970).
Plus Uriah Heep - The Wizard (1972) and Argent - Tragedy (1972).

And a vote for Bad Compnay- Can't Get Enough from 1974, another one from the Bob Pratt tapes.
A snippet was used on Jools Holland some time ago and wasn't known to exist at the BBC until then.

Bad Company is one of the priorities!
In respect to ZDF footage, the BBC have a bit of a problem paying for anything - even shipping costs! I have much ZDF TOTP footage, but it needs audio replacement, and it is watchable, but not perfect video quality.

the Beeb have a few of them like I said, others exist due to being on "Disco" - at least half of those are on Youtube and I have a few on DVD. Is there a complete list of the TOTP segments from lost shows that exist because they were used on DISCO?

Sandie Shaw - Think It All Over (small clip of this was used before re-showing the Sandie Shaw Supplement).
I've wondered about that one! I do remember that clip and the set was definitely that of TOTP circa 1969 but have never seen anything else of it nor seen it mentioned as existing. Does anyone know if the full performance exists (since it might well be just a clip that survives) and where it came from for sure? If it does exist complete, it'd be good to see it... certainly a much better record than the ghastly "Monsieur Dupont!"

Steve and Albert - Follow The Bouncing Ball HAS been shown on TOTP2 because I remember seeing this by virtue of being so unusual; the on-screen lyrics featured (yes, you guessed it) a bouncing ball.
