T.REX - TEENAGE DREAM (TOTP) PLEASE!!!!!!!! Could we see at least some of the See Emily Play clip found a few years back too :-) I do know who owns it (T Rex), and I have seen it - twice, the same day. That's really down to negociation, and I'm not entirely sure the owner would want it shown. But he is an EXCELLENT chap and very affable, so, well I can ask....

Noises for the Leg? does that exist. I know Canyons of Your Mind, I'm the Urban Spaceman and a very bad quality Mr Apollo survive from CMP, but....that? Where? Yep, it definitely exists, courtesy of Bob Pratt. Also two different intro takes to it by Viv Stanshall. Will compile you a list of more unseen performances later today, Ray.

Herman's Hermits - Years May Come, Years May Go (12/2/70?)
A bit of a duff song really, but I want to see it because it's fun watching the audiences in 1970 - TOTP's coolest year!

I'll second that one. I don't think it's a duff song though. But I did see it at the BFI (just before The Jean Genie) late last year and it looked fantastic. A gorgeous colour performance in great condition complete with a funky Tony Blackburn intro

Trying to think what else Bob Pratt saved from TOTP in 1970... two I can think of definitely would be great to see...
Fairweather - Natural Sinner Family - The Weaver's Answer
And what about Argent's "Tragedy" from June 1972? I don't think that's ever been repeated. Would be nice if they could fix up the colour on that for a broadcast.
Problem with all the variety type shows - Cilla, Lulu, Rolf Harris, Cliff etc is we don't always know what guests are on the shows that exist (thank you BBC for not allowing us all to look at Infax online for a few years) so I'm sure there's a bunch of great performances stashed away in those waiting to be unearthed. All those type of shows need looking into because there's bound to be some good stuff in there as well as some quirky duets and collaborations. TOTP2 have been known to dig out a surprise or two along those lines. I know Vince Hill is hardly somebody many would want to see more of, but his performance in that 1969 Rolf Harris Show BBC4 repeated was a genuine surprise... hence why all those kind of shows need to be looked into.
What about Dusty Springfield's BBC shows? I know all the Dusty solo numbers have been released on DVD but I believe all the guests were chopped out. Must be an interesting guest or two in there. I know clips of Scott Walker performing "Mathilde" have been screened but has that whole show or performance been seen again?
It's so frustrating that there is a 10 year gap in the Crackerjack archive. My main interest is 60's and early 70's but would be great for performances from 70's and beyond shows to be screened again along with some from Chegger's Plays Pop.

It was on YouTube a while back and was a really good performance, Russ Ballard singing it live. The picture looked pretty ropey though, so maybe the BBC wouldn't consider it broadcast quality.

The 1970 show Ed and Zed featured a number of pop band around at the time including "White Plains" and "Herman's Hermits" and I believe most of the shows exist on colour VT
Missing or incomplete episodes for programme ED AND ZED.
05.12.70 (missing) 12.12.70 (missing)
Out of an original total of 9 episodes, 2 episodes are missing
Anyone have any info on whats other artist's appeared ?
- there's very little on the web

Ah-ha... Ed and Zed, source of the HH clip I listed. Thanks for reminding me what the show was... I'd forgotten! Great example there - 7 shows and no idea who guested in most of them. Must be all sorts of odd series like that that have been forgotten that feature some music material that's never been unearthed. Hence the point of this thread - to help try and uncover such shows to find lost gems lurking within them.
As for the Argent clip - indeed a great performance of a hit single that's all more or less forgotten. The Move's California Man was broadcast on TOTP2 from that incomplete edition with some visual enhancement to make the colour signal look a bit more natural. The Goodies Come Dancing episode on that same low band VT was also restored for DVD release (mind you, I do think the restoration looks rather peculiar on that) but they could simply remove the colour as the easiest option and it'd look fine as b+w VT. A pity only Argent and The Move are worthwhile from that show - the New Seekers and Dana performances should be on a list of "don't ever repeat these again!"

How about the goldmine of performances on the Basil Brush Show. There are still loads of episodes in the BBC archive to choose from. the '75 series has Pilot, Guys and Dolls, The Osmonds, Donny & Marie.....

A few more I can think of I'd like to see
Slade - Everyday (Clunk Click) & any others from this show and/or Jim'll Fix It. The Osmonds - Crazy Horses (the diff performance in black Elvis outfits seen in 'We Are Family' doc) Nazareth - Bad Bad Boy (OGWT 22/5/73) Clifford T.Ward - All Modern Conveniences (OGWT 27/11/73) Cockney Rebel - Hideaway/My Only Vice (OGWT 10/2/74) Does this still exist?

The best performance on that show was from the New Seekers "Circles", would much rather see that in broadcast quality than the Move or Argent. 22-6-72: Presenter: Ed Stewart (Start missing)
(8) THE SWEET – Little Willy (crowd dancing) (and charts) (6) GARY GLITTER – Rock And Roll (Part 2) (24) ELVIS PRESLEY – An American Trilogy (video) (43) ARGENT – Tragedy (20) FREE – Little Bit Of Love (danced to by Pan’s People) (21) THE NEW SEEKERS – Circles WATCH (NEW) DANA – Crossword Puzzle (7) THE MOVE – California Man WATCH (1) DON McLEAN – Vincent (video) (25) B. BUMBLE & THE STINGERS – Nut Rocker (crowd dancing) (and credits)

How about Roger Whittaker's 1967-68 show called Whistle Stop , there were some great pop music acts on there, including Honeybus, The Herd , Manfred Mann ,Simon Dupree & The Big Sound and many more ,although lost shows say all 22 episodes are missing , i had the feeling that 1 or 2 performences were still around but i could be wrong.

I did wonder why the show on the DVD of Dusty's BBC shows were a little short. The 1999 tribute show has a few removed clips such as a duet with Cilla Black. Challenge showed some 1980's Crackerjack a few years ago.
