I remember Sounds Of The... used some other sources for performances, quite a few from 'Yoof TV' like Something Else & The Oxford Road Show.

According to an old Record Collector all of Riverside still exists, but with right issues preventing any rescreenings. IIRC The Smiths had their first (national?) TV appearance on it.

Also TOTP2 did start showing some OGWT performances at one time.

They still show footage from shows other than TOTP, which is great and I have Sounds of the....60's/70's, so I am aware of that! We certainly need more obscure performances that haven't been shown, so do suggest away. I mean, don't get me wrong I can research myself....but I would like to have some good suggestions prior to 6th March....

Keith Emerson - Honky Tonk Train Blues from TOTP 22/4/76. When the Beeb started the 1976 repeats they cut this - the only showing - out yet decided to show the John Miles Music clip that had already been on the previous week. Very frustrating!

Keith Emerson was also present & correct on either the Uk gold or einsfestival repeat as I recall seeing it recently.

Just addressing the possible issue of non broadcast quality footage the BBC do have a past track record of broadcasting the likes of those Steptoes that they rather carelessly lost from the shibaden domestic recordings made at the time & they were in 1/2 hour slots on a higher profile channel.

Also footage from that Feb 73 episode has been featured on totp2 in the past & thats a pretty poor quality copy complete with tramlines & other artifacts not to mention that baby love footage which appears to get more scratched out everytime it get shown.

The Blue Peter archive from 1964 to 1966 - let's see complete songs by The Searchers, Pinkerton's Assorted Colours, Brian Poole's "I Want Candy" and The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band - I can't remember who else appeared on the show during that era but do recall when Infax was online there are quite a few interesting musical performances in there

Julie Rogers performing "You're No Good" - annoyingly chopped out from The Beat Room repeat

Yardbirds "Over Under Sideways Down" from A Whole Scene Going

Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band - Noises For The Leg (a Bob Pratt saved clip from December 1969 in colour)

Dave Clark Five - Everybody Get Together from 26-2-70 TOTP

The Shadows - The Frightened City (Crackerjack 1961)

Probably too fragmented but any glimpse of The Swinging Blue Jeans on Z Cars in December 1963

Petula Clark - the BBC must have something of her in the 60's or early 70's

Cliff and The Shadows on Billy Cotton Bandshow in 1962

Jake Thackray - ok, not a hit act, but the BBC have a whole host of performances never repeated
from the 60's and early 70's

The Brook Brothers on Pops and Lenny, 1962

Herman's Hermits in December 1970... some kids show on colour VT I believe can't remember the details but know it's there unrepeated in the archive

Honey Bane - Turn Me On, Turn Me Off - TOTP January 1981... sure, was repeated on UK Gold in the mid 90's but never on TOTP2 and would be great to see in best quality

Gene Pitney - That Girl Belongs To Yesterday TOTP 1964

I'm surprised he (as part of Aphrodite's Child) didn't perform on TOTP 1968 with the wonderful 'Rain & Tears', the opening harpsichord sequence is outstanding (performed by Mr. Vangelis) I believe. ;D

but Noises for the Leg? does that exist. I know Canyons of Your Mind, I'm the Urban Spaceman and a very bad quality Mr Apollo survive from CMP, but....that? Where?
