Danny: no, the BBC did not take pity on Marc. He was big in Germany and the BBC had a licensing agreement with ZDF. Seven of the surviving T.Rex TOTPs come from Germany; only six from the BBC (and one from a private source). Of his (at least) 26 TOTPs, only 14 survive.

ZDF have many classic TOTP clips which the BBC wiped from artists such as Neil Diamond, The Sweet, T Rex, Cilla Black and Slade to name but a few.

Great News there in regards.This is a great performance,rightly deserving a rebroadcast there.Wishing the holders of the as yet still unreleased rock-show in Chicago primarily,for UFO's Strangers In The Night might one day ( At long last) again see the light of day.

Honestly,one of the best live rock albums I have ever heard (Next to SLADE ALIVE).And with Hipgnosis (Storm Thorgeson) artwork is a sheer treat,big fan of his musical artwork.

It's quite feasible that it was recorded for 16/11/72, but shown 23/11/72. Until we see the complete shows, I don't suppose we can be certain.

Re: Crazy Horses - I recall it being shown for the first time on TOTP. Prior to the programme, the Beeb made a bit of a big deal about it, this being Osmondmania at its height - "heard for the first time" and all that. I'm not sure if it's my memory playing tricks on me, but I seem to recall one or two of them wearing headphones.
