I have been looking for the UK episodes of Fraggle Rock, like many others it seems. Upon reading various forums it appears that I will only be able to get the 12 episodes that are available on DVD, am I right? Also is this forum just for discussions or do members trade episodes? I am new to this forum so please forgive me if I ask something out of line. I see that a number of people have private recordings but I was not sure if they make them available to other fans.

There is no trading allowed here.
It's generally a good idea to read the forum rules when you join a forum - if you would be kind enough to do so, you'll see that trading is strictly forbidden.
You'll also see that posting under pseudonyms is not allowed..! When you've finished reading the rules, I'd be grateful if you could change your user name to reflect your real name, please..!
But welcome aboard!

Sorry about that... I do tend to try to run before I can walk. Compared to a lot of places the Mods here are first rate. Sorting out your profile isn't that difficult but it's a lot better to be chatting with a real person than an anonymous pseudonom.

Hello all. I have a discovery to announce! Yes, I know it's my first post, but it's all true. I only found out that so many Fraggle Rocks were missing earlier this year, via the discussion that followed the CITV weekend. And I immediately remembered something I'd pretty much forgotten for the last 25 years: that I had, somewhere, a video containing three early episodes. On checking Alex's list I became even more excited - no, really - as most of the episode titles that I recognised, all from the first series, seemed to be missing. Even so, when I eventually tracked down the tape and checked the contents I was astonished to find that all three episodes on it were missing. Before you get too excited (!), I ought to explain that the quality isn't all that good. We lived at the time in an area with very poor reception, and recordings seemed to vary from mediocre to unwatchable (until the late 1980s when a new transmitter was put up - but I digress...) The best of the three episodes has a little 'ghosting' on the picture, if anyone remembers what that was, but on the worst the picture brightness keeps pulsing up and down. Very odd. The sound is okay on them all, though. IMO none of them are unwatchable, but at the same time I don't expect they'll be of much use to anyone except hardcore fans. Curse the Dover transmitter, and the hills between it and our house. Anyway, the episodes are numbers 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 - clearly I was hooked right from the start! - namely: Wembley And The Gorgs The Lost Treasure Of The Fraggles Let The Water Run I'll pass the details on to the authorities when I get a minute, but I thought you'd like to know. By the way, I watched them last weekend and they're still great fun.

Has anyone tried putting an advert on the local freecycle group asking for home taped videos with fraggle rock on them "to fill a few holes in my collection"?
This is a recent enough programme for videos to still be lying around in cupboards in folks homes.

News!
Another 15 episodes have been recovered! They're all off-air recordings, and most are missing their opening and/or closing titles with a few also missing a few seconds from the opening/closing scenes, but they are substantially complete. The titles are:
I Don't Care Catch the Tail by the Tiger The Finger of Light The Challenge New Trash Heap in Town Uncle Matt Comes Home Boober and the Glob The Secret Society of Poohbahs The Incredible Shrinking Mokey Wembley's Wonderful Whoopiee Water The Grapes of Generosity The Cavern of Lost Dreams Playing 'til it Hurts Junior Faces the Music Beyond the Pond
With this discovery, we now have 82 episodes known to exist in some form. As before, a huge thankyou to Neil for his efforts in arranging this!
