David,
I am pretty sure The Kinks 'Sunny Afternoon' is from 9-6-66 - the bootleg DVD I have with this on backs this up. It was a new entry that week at No. 25, and appeared 6 weeks running on the show!
Regards
Mark

Just archiving more betamax tapes today and noticed a clip of Rolling Stones - Let's spend the night together on a US TV retro special (i think American Bandstand-super night of rock'n'roll) from 1984. It was the chrtistmas 1967 clip but the print looked very worn and washed out!. Did the US tv company that made this show have it's own print i wonder?, if so, are there any more in their archives? Anyone know if TOTP was sold to the US in the 60's?

With regards to the fast-unravelling 'True Story' of The Dave Clark Five, may I direct any interested people to this forum, highly informative (in particular the contributions of a certain Ron Ryan) www.voy.com/174078/

Jeff, I have had a copy of that exact footage, with the time code, for ages. I just presumed everybody had it. There's a fake act from that line up currently working the gig circuit who might be not be pleased that footage is now out there.

These aren't missing performances, Jeff. They're all in the BBC archives. The 26/2/70 show survives complete. Why did you think they were missing?

Sorry Laurence, I hadn't come across them before, either on the net TOTP 2 or any of the Einsfestival shows that i'd seen I'll have to pay more attention in future, looks like a great couple of editions though, I'll keep looking Jeff

Occasionally something rare is discovered by accident, Jeff. So always worth mentioning and asking anyway!
I live in hope of a few complete sixties editions turning up somewhere. Just a handful would be better than none. Those recent recoveries and the Lulu recording are very welcome to be going on with.

There's also the actual CONDITION of whatever 'RSG!' material he has; I've never seen a complete version of The Beatles' 'Twist And Shout' from their first 'RSG!' appearance, it always starts halfway through the first verse, both on the C4 broadcasts and on the Video release. I have the Beatles Ready Steady Go laser disc (1985) and just the guitar intro is missing from 'Twist & Shout'. The footage is in good condition considering the age, no video drop outs whatsoever. ;D img.villagephotos.com/p/2010-7/1358393/Beatles%20RSG.jpg
