Analogue TV signals split the video & audio to different frequencies - I remember being able to pick up the sound from my local 405 Line TV transmitter on VHF/FM, and I often tuned into the programmes late at night that way - this phenomenon was even discussed on an edition of The Multi Coloured Swap Shop & Noel Tidybeard explained it was caused by harmonics - when a multiple of a frequency can be received higher up the wave band(s). I could also hear the video "buzz".
