^ So ends 'Operation: Gone & Looked'. Why do I get the distinct impression you take great pleasure in this idea being squashed? That's a rhetorical question, btw. I know the bloody answer. Jeff

Why are you all ignoring Grahams response above ? What will make you leave TVNZ alone and move on to another broadcaster ?? Why are you certain that TVNZ still have something of interest ? I am not criticising anyone, just, interested in the reasoning, that's all....... I think it's the old "if we wish hard enough it'll come true" line... Nothing to see here, move along please... Actually, if you can rein in your arrogance for five d**n seconds, the "line" is in actual fact: 'If we ask nicely enough, and get the proper permissions, maybe they'll let us a take a look'. I suppose that's being 'unrealistic'. Yes, it is, I suppose, in the same way that FOX acquiring the rights to make a DW pilot by actually asking the BBC to do so is 'unrealistic'. I am getting REALLY sick of being patronised, when all I wanted to do is float a trial balloon. Jeff

Graham and I know what we are doing. It's a matter of slowly building up trust. But we certainly haven't given up looking though.
These things take time and patience - and knowing where - and how! - to look.
THANK YOU, Jon. That is what I meant all this time.
Ask nicely, build up trust, get permissions, handle the gear correctly under supervision, and SEE IF THERE IS ANYTHING THERE.
This is aboslutely the last time I will needlessly justify myself to complete strangers.
I apologise to Graham for getting the details of his little archive mission wrong...this was from my\memory of his article in TSV many years ago. It was this memory that gave me the idea to see if a proper search might locate missing material. Jeff

I'm sure money was exchanged along the way. On second thought, didn't FOX aquire the rights from anoother party who was trying to do a Doctor Who pilot for the US? I remember Speilberg involved with it somehow as producer, I believe through Amblin, but I could be wrong.

Jeff It was a joke you silly moron! I'm in favour of the idea, as my original post stated! Shesh, someone needs to calm down a little bit.

Anyway, it has been a while now. I wonder if anything was found out by Jon Preddle about those old NZBC material holdings ?
Lance.
