This rumor of missing footage existing, sounds like another hoax. But, let's not dismiss the possibility that he could possibly have some missing material. Now you are probably right that it is a hoax, but there is always a slim chance that it is not a hoax. And we could be turning down missing material. Has anyone called the phone number that was listed on the post to see if he does indeed have any missing material? If he does, ask him to e-mail you some screen grabs of the clips, or to make a VHS copy with a dubbing deck? Just a thought.

Lance, read Richard's post - this man is a well-known hoaxer who hates Doctor Who fans (and probably Doctor Who). I think you're more likely to find a missing episode by digging up a landfill site and we've already established that the chances of that happening are... unbelievably minute.

He never comes up with the slightest shred of evidence that he has anything - no grabs or clips. If you "pressure" him, he starts pretending to be other people (e.g. a friend, or brother etc) or pretends to be out. It might be worth persuing things if there was even a little evidence from him. Surely somebody who "gets off" on hoaxing would let little bits out here and there, just to get people even more wound up? The fact he doesn't even produce any "appetisers" is pretty conclusive. My opinion is that the guy has mental problems - he can deny previous contacts and phone-calls with you without any trace of self-conciousness, and changes his story/stories at every twist and turn. He's also been known to write gushing letters to people apologising for his hoaxes and regretting what he has done. The following week his nutty adverts are back in "Exchange & Mart" or wherever....
