Hi, Stuart Douglass I am sorry that you feel that way, but if you do indeed feel like that please don't try to embarass people and just keep it to yourself, If that LONG LIVE DOCTOR WHO thing really bothers you so much I can stop it, no big deal. Now back to business, Is there any real evidence that Space Pirates does indeed exist here? Or is this just going to end like other apparent finds and just proven to be false? Any ideas. Hi Lance I'm not entirely sure why I'm apologising, but apologies nonetheless if I've embarrassed anyone (or exactly what it is that I've to keep to myself). All I'm trying to say is that there is no reason whatsoever to believe that this Bernie Kent has the Space Pirates and that the constant delays in getitng a definitive 'no' (or 'yes, granted) from him makes the whole thing seem more and more like another silly hoax, only kept alive by Mr Neve's insistence. And many thanks for stopping the cheerleader pep-squad chanting - much appreciated. Regards Stuart

Stuart! I have stated many times why its taken so Long to write to Bernie. Also I am in the UK and contacting someone in Australia is not easy. You don't just sit down and scribble any old letter, you take time to think about what your going to say also. Your entitled to your opions Stuart, but I will clearly state I am not hoaxing anybody, I DO posses Bernie Kents Address. Hey! there might not be anything In it, but the difference between me and you Stuart is your content to sit back and do nothing! where I am prepared to see IF there is the slightest possibility that their may be any grain of truth in this. Regards Well, yes you have said that it's taken you four months to do anything because you had a new job, but seriously - has anyone ever gone into a job that they were so badly suited for that it took FOUR MONTHS to find even ten minutes of spare time to write a letter to some guy (but did allow time for posting to various internet fora)? And - again without wishing to seem insulting - the difference between you and I is, I suspect, that when I first came across this forum, I politely asked what someone like myself with no particular specialist knowledge of film could do to help. And then - and this is the crucial bit - I listened to what more experienced people said, thanked them for their time and now, as a result, I have a look for old film cans when I'm at jumble sales and the like with the kids. And I think I've probably got as much chance of turning up a missing episode as you do (i.e not very much chance at all). Now if you could just do what Mark Parameter suggested on the 'Locked Thread' thread and be a little more circumspect, a little less rude and arrogant, listen to wiser heads than your own, and actually think about what you are doing and saying, then you would - again only in my opinion - generate a little more respect on these boards. Sorry to go on at such length, but really - you do bring it on yourself... Regards Stuart

"Absoluetly, I may never find enything, but at least I made the effort"

Hehehehehehehehehehe... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
If only Bob Holmes were around to see this now. This serial is considered by many to be one of the all time clunkers of B/W "Who". In fact he himself mentioned that the only person who thought it was any good was his wife!
After many years of being described as the nadir of Dr Who it is interesting to see that "The Space Pirates" is generating more interest than any other serial in the last few years!

I just wonder what me argiung with Richard on a previous thread has got to do with this one, nothing! Well since I never mentioned you arguing with Richard Bignell I've no idea what you're talking about. What I suggested was that you visit Mark P's excellent site and read all the informative articles linked thereon. I'm not sure why you're being so aggressive Stephen. I have endeavoured to be as polite as possible but, frankly, you are almost single-handedly ruining this forum with your ill-informed and semi-literate posts. Hence, I give up and will in future simply avoid your posts by staying away from this board. Regards, and the best of luck in your Episode Hunting, Stuart

I would also like to see the Space Pirates, I did not think that it was a terrible episode, and hope that it has been found. I do not really think that it deserved all the bad reputation that it has recived.

I do not really think that it deserved all the bad reputation that it has recived. Lance ...and also to Mark Brown et al. Whoa! Back the truck up. Far from thinking so little of it, I also regard "The Space Pirates" as rather a good story - if a little pedestrian. I was in my twenties when the book came out so had had years of misinformed by other, older fans about the value of this one. I bought the book for completist reasons only. However, upon reading it I was forced to re-evaluate my opinion. Yes, I agree it would be great to see this back in the archives again. My comments in my last post were only there to highlight the irony of this curious twist of fate. One set of episodes once considered among the worst in the shows history have now proved themselves worthy of another chance by those who decried them in the first place.
