Adegregg1@hotmail.com Adrian: As you're in Australia, do you have any idea of anyone has searched ABC for non-Who "censor clips"? It wouldn't surprise me if the missing bits from the first-season Goodies episode "Playgirl Club" (aka "Caught in the Act") were there, perhaps along with trims from "Till Death Us Do Part". Any way you can look into this? "Playgirl Club" and a Till Death episode "Alf's Dilemma" were both returned from Australia, but with edits ("Alf's Dilemma" is, I think, missing as much as five minutes). There could be a lot more missing material amongst what was cut by the censors. I just believe that the Who fans only cared about rescuing Who clips. If we could get back those missing bits from "The Goodies" and "Till Death", it'd be a great find that Network could use on future DVD releases of both shows.

There is no gurantee that he has them, its only a rumour, but I'm certain I know who the guy is, there can't be much harm in asking him nicely. As I am in the UK its hard to contact someone in Australia, so it would be a great help. I came across this Bernie whilst investigating the POLO 5 rumour from last year and a previous posting on this rumour totally unrelated to Polo 5. Some guy claimed to know a young fan who had attended a convention and was asking people if he could see more of various different episodes as his uncle Bernie had shown him several different episodes, one lot being the Space Pirates and a colour mind of evil along with death to the daleks. I think the Bernie in both these rumours are the same guy.

It can't do any harm to contact that other doctor who fan who lives in Australia. Adrian Gregg at his e-mail address at: Adegregg1@hotmail.com
There is no gurantee with most everything that happens in this crazy world. But every so often we get lucky. So Steve Neve you might want to think about contacting Adrian and seeing if he can contact uncle bernie. would'nt it be cool to see "Space Pirates" as the first missing episode find of 2005?

It would be great! probally would have to wait untill 2007 to see it if going by how long it took to get masterplan 2 out. Somehow the BBC think that us fans would rather have a DVD release of some 1980's story that we have seen loads of time on VHS than a lost episode that hasen't been seen by many fans. Shame really!

Interesting, although as with all rumours we should take a wait and see approach.
Sorry to ask,but have you heard of a guy caled Bernie? I only ask 'cause when I was in Melbourne last year, I spoke to a rather excitable young lad who was shown some ...Who by his uncle Bernie & wanted to know if all of 'Worlds End' was out on video. he had seen part of this episode (in bad quality) & wanted to see the rest, He also asked about 'Death Of The Daleks'(sic),'Space & The Pirates'(sic) & 'The Minds of Evil.' Maybe he just saw bad quality parts of the existing parts, but interesting nevertheless. "
Still trying to jog my memory on where I heard the Mind of Evil was in colour, there were several posts on this. Anyway I have done some research and discovered Australia diden't show the Mind of Evil in colour, so maybe his copies are black and white and Chinese Whispers are at play. Just have to hope he has the space pirates.

Thankyou Lance, its nice to know there are some greatful fans out there! I usually get a hard time from most fans and especially from people who are connected to the BBC, who like picking holes in everything I do, beacuse your not going the correct away about it. There ain't any correct way in this business, its about keeping an open mind and putting all personal opions to one side.

fans can be a very odd bunch, find an episode and you'd think from some of the comments you get that you'd destroyed it rather than rescued it. but rest assured the majority of us are with you on this one.
