I think TOTP compilations would be a great way forward!

Not True. How about the recent Queen: Days Of Our Lives Documentary which used a good deal of the Seven Seas of Rhye TOTP footage from the three known performances.A big one being the Dave Lee Travis appearance which had been talked about for some time. Also used a short clip from the recent Dick Emery 74' TOTP edition (Killer Queen) in the documentary. There was also the Stormtroopers In Stilettos "Now I'm Here" 1975 TOTP clip Keith Badman sourced for Queen Management which we saw our first glimpse online recently. There has also been the odd news spot.
And these are just the recent ones I can think about off hand.I would think Floyd management has plans for this material.Who knows, they may be cleaning, and restoring even further. We just do not know, and doubt will know soon. But am ever hopeful that this material will see a release soon.AS likewise, had been on my TOP recovery list for a while. Was very excited to say the least when this turned up!!!
Disc's-A-Go-Go,Time For Blackburn,Troubleshooters,No Hiding Place ( and remaining Crime Sheet edition),Z-Cars,Out Of The Unknown,45,Lift Off,Disco 2,Dixon Of Dock Green,The Rat Catchers,Hippodrome Show,TOTP just to name but a few.
I am with you Ray.I think compilations would be a great way to break the ice,so to speak. However,I can see the ever so prevalent rights and copyright battles coming into play here.As am certain you are well aware there.Seeing all the 76' TOTP editions broadcast on BBC4 lately, might not be as far fetched as may think there.Hoping this is the case, and will be seeing a release in the cards!!
Count me in there too.I would buy a re-release of said material if it were VidFired, without a doubt!
Cheers,Lance.

The 3 Musketeers from 1966 has been released on dvd in the states - I have bought it
And Cloppa Castle has all been released by Network in two box sets, the first consisting of the first series and the other containing the second series.

Spike Milligan's Q series
The Innes book of Records
James Burke's Connections (the first series)
I *cannot* understand why these are not seeing the light of day. I do have a copy of the latter, which I went to considerable time, trouble and expense to acquire from the US (it includes rights to show it in public!). For some reason the first series (made by the BBC) is unavailable in this country, whereas the next two series (made by discovery channel) can be bought (though again from America).

Interesting. The most topical,as far as I know,is The Silver Sword about Polish children who are Displaced Persons at the end of WW2.A school English book for a long time,so the story was well known. Time for a remake after The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas?

It would be fantastic to see at least some of the existing Z-Cars episodes released to DVD format - it was so popular in its day but the episodes that do exist are as good as missing if they are never shown, sat in an archive gathering dust (OK, maybe not neccesarily literally, but you know what I mean) I was delighted to find an amazon listing for an upcoming release of 'Dixon of Dock Green' in June. DODG suffered very badly so its great to see that some of the episodes that do exist are being released on DVD so that we can make full use of their fortunate existance

I would like to see BBC and ITV using their sport archive more (especially BBC). Complete Ashes Series from 1961 right up to 1997. Like to see Ashes series in years gone by. Releases of the Benson & Hedges and Gillette Cup/Nat West Trophy Finals. The Crowning Years: Welsh Rugby 1969-79 given an expanded DVD release with fuller coverage of each five nations match played showing the defeats as well as the victories, with the games against the Southern Hemisphere sides that toured during that period included. AC Milan v Leeds United ECWC Final to show that the referee was utterly bought in letting AC Milan win the trophy. Although the 1977 and 1981 European Cup Finals are on DVD, how about 2DVD sets of each European Cup Final from 1977 to 1982 and 1984, with the final on the first DVD, and coverage of the cup runs leading up to the final on a second DVD (will need both BBC and ITV archives there).
This is one that may never be done, but given the right circumstances this could be done: Match of the Seventies but with coverage from both BBC and ITV archives to show a fuller and extended record of each season from 1970-71 to 1979-80, but I would like to see separate English and Scottish versions.
My attitude is that BBC and ITV should work together to get sporting material out of the archive. For example, I am sure Arsenal fans would like to have a DVD Box Set of their double winning season of 1970-71, but would need coverage from Match of the Day, The Big Match and other ITV Regional Football Programmes where Arsenal were the visiting opposition.
Music: More Old Grey Whistle Test to be released on DVD. It has now been nearly a decade since anything has been released and it would be nice to have more performances and interviews, maybe have some complete editions from 1971 onwards released to give an idea of what was on a show for any particular week. How about releasing In Concert officially from the early 1970s. With both there are rights issues but surely they could be sorted out easily.
That's what I would like to see released anyway.

I would like to see a Southern TV show released onto DVD called:
"Going Out" by Phil Redmond..
It was broadcast on Channel Four in 1981 over about six weeks, (so six installments totally about 3 hours) and it was broadcast really late at night, but has never been seen since, although it is on YouTube. I would have been 12 so I used to watch it secretly on my Black and White portable in my bedroom. Linda Robson was in it and it was the story of kids leaving school in the 80's and not being able to find work.
