My one memory of CPP was one of those bits where the kids were racing over the inflatables while Captain Beefheart was heard singing "Hard Working Man".
Obviously not an actual performance, so I guess it's not on the list..

No, that episode was mentioned as existing in this thread four years ago. In fact, I had already seen the Peter Schilling performance years before that as it was being traded amongst music fans. Good to know there are multiple recordings of that episode, though. I'm still trying to track down the other six missing episodes...

Hi Simon - It was me who mentioned that episode in 2015, and World Geekly News is also my new website, and where I chose to share the episode with everyone (because for some reason, the Kajogoogoo clip was blocked on YouTube, but all the rest were fine!!).
I've been extremely lax in finding my copy as shortly after I last posted about the find, I moved house and the DVD has been lurking in the bottom of a box ever since. Anyway, a blog post about lost children's TV prompted me to get my arse into gear and actually do it!
So strictly speaking, Marjorie is actually correct!

25/05/83 might exist as an off-air recording as I heard Mute Records had a policy of recording programmes featuring their artists.
Edit: this is briefly mentioned up thread.

I read a few posts back, that copies of episodes were doing the rounds with collectors etc....How does this happen? All the outlets and groups I used for adding to my collections over the years appear to be removed and unattainable?

Hi! I'm a new member and joined this forum specifically to answer a question about the 24/04/1984 episode of Cheggers Plays Pop….because I am/was on it! My school was Two Trees High School in Denton, Manchester. We were the “Yellow” team. A few months before the recording our School held a Pop Music test. This was took by kids in the first year of our high School. I think the test was supplied by the BBC but I couldn’t swear to it. Anyway, the Girl and Boy with the highest correct questions answered on the pop test were to be the ones that answered questions from Keith Chegwin on the show. Being a huge music fan, I got the Boy position. A girl called Sarah attained the Girl post.
The celebrity team captains were Rocky Sharpe (of the Replays) for our school (the yellow team) and I think Sue Robbie was the captain of the Red Team. Unfortunately I can’t recall which school represented the Reds. Captain Sensible was on this show to promote “We’re Glad It’s All Over”. I can remember him being very funny and engaging with us kids before him and the Dolly Mixtures (his band, I think) taped their performance. I always have a soft spot for the Captain because of his nice attitude on that day. Matt Bianco were on pre recorded Video doing “Sneaking Out The Back Door”. I also think Belle And The Devotions were on doing “Love Games” which was our entry for the Eurovision Song Contest in 1984. Apart from me spelling Bananarama wrong (this would haunt me for the rest of my days at Two Trees High as kids would approach me asking to spell Bananarama and giggle….oh the despair 😄) we, the yellow team, won! There were no prizes or anything. It was a great evening and thoroughly enjoyable. I hope any info I’ve given can be of some help. And I love this board!
