Well, that's well into "affordable home video" days. Doubtless, contestants whos families saved their children's appearances would plug the gaps. But you'd have to know who they were...

Cheggers Plays Pop aired April, May and June each year for the first 7 series. "Shy Boy" didn't chart until July 1982, while the series was off-air, so they wouldn't have had an opportunity to perform that one on the show.
Of course, it's 6 years since Stephen originally asked that question so I guess he's already aware of that...

I am deeply saddened that the Kajagoogoo episode is missing. I am a huge fan. I have put out pleas with two of the members of the group and if nothing comes of that I will get the two Steve's who run the kajafax blog to put out a plea. I know their drummer Jez Strode has quite a few bits and bobs, some of which he has posted on youtube before. I am hoping he has this as well.

I'm pretty sure that Mute Records have a copy of Yazoo's performance of Nobody's Diary in their archive, if only as an off-air VHS copy.

Sods law that that Yazoo performance got wiped... I watched the show most of the time solely for the musical content and this Yazoo performance is one of the only ones I can actually remember. It was unusual since I think it was an insert... no audience shots, opening shot superimposed on some circle above the audience and throughout, Alf and Vince (sporting his weird mohican type cut) I seem to recall performed it with backs turned to each other, surrounded by visual sound wave effects... that's how I seem to remember it. It stood out and I rather liked the song at the time.

Hi - My wife was a contestant on the missing episode S07E06 (Eddy grant, Nick Heywood, Peter Schilling) and we still have a copy of it on DVD. I'm pretty sure it's the entire episode and is OK quality (it was digitised from VHS). Who should we contact about this?

I'm pretty sure it's the entire episode and is OK quality (it was digitised from VHS). Who should we contact about this? My advice:- copy it, put it on youtube, (that way everyone can watch it) and either send it to the BBC or Kaleidoscope, who will make sure it is preserved. If you need any help in regard to contacts let me know.
