Is this old news and what are the missing Hartnell episodes?

It’s been known a number of missing episodes are in the hands of collectors. This was revealed by Paul some time ago. I think he estimated there were six. (Please correct me if I’m wrong)
Which episodes they are has been a matter of speculation. The collectors are not prepared to hand them over, as the article suggests.
The only thing new is the article says one of the episodes is a Dalek one? I didn’t know this.

Specifically, a Hartnell Dalek episode, which narrows things down a bit.

With thanks to Mr. Bignell:
Tim Burrows has posted on Twitter/X:
"Regarding the article, I’ve spoken to John and he has said that he was alluding to the same two episodes that Paul Vanezis has mentioned over the years and that he doesn’t know what they are. He DID NOT mention Daleks and he has been misrepresented. Sorry to rain on everyone’s parade."

It’s been a while. I remember now Paul said two episodes.

John Franklin and Paul Vanezis only know the identity of the two episodes and they are only willing to tell if the BBC promises to give general amnesty on missing film footage.
Collectors don't want a repeat of Bob Monkhouse who's archive was seized in 1978 and never returned to him.
I think there should be amnesty to Any collector as they wanted to save films from being lost forever. They're getting old and may not be around longer. Who knows what will happen to the films if they pass.
Also, whether the statement relates to the missing WOF3, I don't know, but let's not ask that question.

No. It doesn't. Why would it? Because someone is bound to ask that eventually. The article specifically relates to, and references, people rescuing film cans that were being junked in the UK. It doesn't refer to overseas sales/prints whatsoever. You'd have to go quite off topic for someone to start talking about that.

No. It doesn't. Why would it? Because someone is bound to ask that eventually. Why, for a film that was "supposed" stolen 4000 miles away?

So its not really clear what this collector actually wants.

On a related note how many years porridge did the late Terry Burnett end up doing for hoarding ‘Air Lock’ and ‘Underwater Menace 2’? Though I myself would never advocate a ‘cash for (film) cans’ type policy my incorrigible cynicism tells me that all these alleged impediments dissuading collectors from returning such material would magically disappear once chequebooks started opening…

On a related note how many years porridge did the late Terry Burnett end up doing for hoarding ‘Air Lock’ and ‘Underwater Menace 2’? Though I would never personally advocate a ‘cash for (film) cans’ type policy my incorrigible cynicism tells me that all these alleged/claimed impediments preventing collectors from returning such material would magically disappear upon the opening of a chequebook… These collectors appear to be in the 80's and Paul V knows who has them so there is slight chance in the next 10 years we may get them back. I suppose it depends what happens when these people pass away.

So that's any 2 from Galaxy 4 to the Savages.
