It’s been known a number of missing episodes are in the hands of collectors. This was revealed by Paul some time ago. I think he estimated there were six. (Please correct me if I’m wrong) Which episodes they are has been a matter of speculation. The collectors are not prepared to hand them over, as the article suggests. The only thing new is the article says one of the episodes is a Dalek one? I didn’t know this. All we seem to know is the two Paul have mentioned are Hartnell and season 3. So that's any 2 from Galaxy 4 to the Savages. Makes it more likely to be Myth Makers 2 & 4.

Why, for a film that was "supposed" stolen 4000 miles away? Phil Morris claims an Aussie fan has it. Where did Phil Morris claim this?

Phil Morris claims an Aussie fan has it. Where did Phil Morris claim this? He made it on twitter or was it facebook. Take it with a pinch of salt.

Makes it more likely to be Myth Makers 2 & 4. Why? NOTE: This is speculation, so take this with a grain of salt. Myth Makers is a Season 3 story, so in between Galaxy 4 to the Savages. Plus, it's the only Season 3 story mentioned in the both the BritBox listing and in the recent Omnirumors. Only John Franklin and Paul Vanezis know 100 percent, but can't neither confirm nor deny for privacy reasons and legal threats. We're trying to give privacy collectors amnesty and anonymity, not doxxing and harassment.

Amnesty? What about indemnity? What we need is a benevolent alien to mediate...

Been rumours about those for a few years. If 1 of them turns out to be from the massacre I will squee.

Like one other person has pointed out here - what is all this talk of an 'amnesty'? You have the reels of film - return them - the BBC are happy As far as I know, there have never been any threats from the BBC or criminal proceedings against anyone returning something. Nice to also get confirmation that this indeed just a recycled rumour and nothing more. I still maintain that there's nothing out there and all these budding journalists are hoping that someone with something will read it and look in their attic. Which is actually a great thing. Instead of being upset that there's nothing 'new' - a big article in the Guardian (or wherever else)is the best bet we have of something turning up down the line. It's a win/win situation - and we should really be grateful for these stories, even when we know it's nothing new. Clearly their editors are either Dr. Who fans - or they very rarely question their journalists' research skills

Will we ever see them though, that is the question.

Phil Morris claims an Aussie fan has it. That's interesting as the last I heard, he was pointing the finger at the Fitzroy crowd. The story about Web 3 keeps changing and Phil has made various wild claims. I really don't like the guy. He told certain individuals he had Marco Polo along with Web of Fear and Enemy of the World. Its clear now he never had it but peoples reputations have taken a battering because they believed him.

With thanks to Mr. Bignell: Tim Burrows has posted on Twitter/X: "Regarding the article, I’ve spoken to John and he has said that he was alluding to the same two episodes that Paul Vanezis has mentioned over the years and that he doesn’t know what they are. He DID NOT mention Daleks and he has been misrepresented. Sorry to rain on everyone’s parade." The Guardian will often correct mistakes, and provide a note about such corrections. Anyone fancy getting in touch with them?
