Sunday 24 April. 17.00: This week we show vintage car rallies, steam engines, vespas, scooters and even hovercraft! We have interesting information on actress Gay Emma and Juke Box Jury, and we pay tribute to Jack Smethurst. (SUBTITLES AVAILABLE)
(IMDB has: 'Episode #1.228 (1963) ... Self - Surprise Guest' for GE, though TVBrain has the first show of 1963, 05.01.1963 (if it's the same show) as no.179.

An apology by myself.
Actually Mike Read is actually okay in Footage Detectives. I never liked him in anything else but he does have a good knowledge of old show business and the industry in Footage Detectives.

Yes he knows his stuff and has been involved in a lot of projects (which have lost him money) trying to keep a memory of something alive. Plus of course, he gets the guests going on FD. He now has 'The Heritage Music Show' on TP late Sunday night- if you have not seen it it's basically music artists from the 70/80s and what they are doing now musically.

In the evening I could and did listen to Radio 270 in London.
Strange that they were debating when that caravan to Butlins movie was filmed (based on the length of the woman's mini-dress) and missed the June 1973 tax disc on the car, which was shown clearly towards the end.

Just a passing mention of the JBJ at the start of the new show www.tptvencore.co.uk/Video/The-Footage-Detectives-Episode-23?id=8c89ce1b-f75d-4b20-aec5-73172643bb79 including a list of the discs that were in contention that week. If it's the one I'm thinking of, the Dennis Norden film has never been "missing" or indeed that rare. I produced several Bond specials for ITV and even had a neg of it for a time I think. It was made by Ford of Britain and is of the Aston Martin being filmed on a runway somewhere...
