Nope,no production notes and no 5.1 surround sound unless the production notes are on the original telesnaps and original episodes located on the B/W disc. The story really is low priority on the BBC archive list, even though it's been animated. But the animation is stunning nonetheless and enhances the story with it's re-designs of the fish people and other elements.Shame the bluray release couldn't be more definitive though.

I guess they need to leave some meat on the bone for future season 4 sets though.if it was the definitive article it would take away from that a little

I've now checked the rest of Disc 1 & there are definitely no production notes on the recons or original episodes either. So, no production notes anywhere on Disc 1.

The first 5 Doctors dvd was you could say pre Restoration Team treatment and it only included a 5.1 mix and 8 music cues.

I have just finished all the Extras on the Peter Davison season 20 box set, and just had to mention the “Let’s go Dutch!” feature. It had me in stitches, one of the best extras for sure.

Fantastic isn’t it! That and the “Look Who’s Driving” extra are so much fun! More of these on future sets would be excellent, but there is something about this group that works so well! Love these guys!

Reading on Twitter that Season 17 is getting its standard release, so expect that to hit all the usual places in due course!

Here in Oz it's now a long wait for a local release almost half a year. It wasn't so bad coming after the UK nowadays it's UK/US then Oz and be buggered if I'm going to shell out over 100 for an import to have it now when the local release can be cheaper.

Only the Fury from the Deep and Galaxy 4 animations have had the info text subtitles. 5.1 soundtracks are only possible on the budget for these releases where all the music and SFX survive separately from the episodes themselves. That’s why TPotD and FftD got them but no other animations.

….I had almost convinced myself that Season 20 was just a one off of which had only leapt up in price because of the wealth of newly commissioned extras it was packing. Clearly I was being naive... On a more positive note, if the impending Season 16 can fix ‘Fang Rock’s unfortunate ‘giant bogey on a stick’ Rutan with some brand new CGI then it ain’t all bad I guess.

BBC CA listed it early about 8am UK time. The release date given was 04/06/2024. This could have been a placeholder, I'm not sure.
