Shocked by the initial Australia price for Season 9 of $126 when the average price was 60 to 80. Hopefully that comes down when it's released. Revenge for the Ashes……

Well the uncertainty in June when it was announced Australian made sets would cease due to physical media's poor sales i jumped for the UK set rather than waiting for a decision that at the time looked uncertain and UK sets would be then norm or would a local maker step up.

the increase in price is a shame....but with the way inflation been rocketing its not a huge surprise can't imagine these sets are cheap to make both in the physical item and the time spent on content and this one does look feature rich. If the option was £10 more on the price or cut content,n with these being the definitive release of the classic series Il take the content every time Everything's gone up in price. Poundland is now TwoPoundland. To clarify my original point, I wasn’t bemoaning the price increase but rather the scale of that increase. The previous ‘Collection release, Season 9, cost me a full £10 less - a difference those of us of a more ‘fiscally constrained disposition’ tend to notice and therefore remark upon…

The previous ‘Collection release, Season 9 cost me a full £10 less - a difference those of us of a more ‘fiscally constrained disposition’ tend to notice and are fully entitled to remark upon… Quite right you raised a fair and valid point. I think the fact it seems a very full featured set with a lot of stories makes it an easier pill to swallow. If this had been season 25 say, where I Personally can't stand half the stories that season it would be a lot harder to justify the price in my head. even if I did love them all there's only 4 of them, even if they put every scrap of studio footage itl be hard to justify that price tag. Although I'd probably still buy it since I've got all the others but it would be the first time I'd do so a little begrudgingly. It would be interesting if anyone invited in the range could comment on if the price I crease is purely inflation or if there is a bit of we spent more budget because its a big set and very feature rich. If it was the latter might mean they may be other sets where a Higher price tag would make sense for more content. Its never going to get to the point they commission an animation of missing eps but could maybe spread to a cut down partially animated/telesnap mini in the vien of the wheel in space or Marco polo summary on the beginning dvd.

Season 9: 5 stories Season 20: 7 stories (including 5 Doctors)
That’s a 40% increase.

Season 9 = 26 episodes Season 20 (If you count Five Doctors as the equivalent of 4 episodes) = 26 episodes Doesn’t matter how many stories there are it’s still the same amount of episodes so 10 hours ish per season

Just an FYI in case anyone didn’t know, Season 20 has now been given a proper release date: 18th September. Quicker than I was expecting tbh. Memo to self: time to arrange sale of kidney...

Memo to self: time to arrange sale of kidney... aweh that's great to know I was expecting a November release.....although I do also suspect that the November release spots been taken by underwater menace and they don't want to flood the market at the same time and affect eithers sales. Thanks for the good news

It many be the same amount of 10ish hours of who but there will be far more extras and things, more wider cast members writers directors ext to engage with for more stories.

Can't to see how far Season 7 can be expanded. Do you mean how many disks? I think you could easily do 2 disks a story and a bonus. Spearhead you can do the omnibus and the episodic, plus lots of extras on the reformat of the show the birth of colour fearure on liz Shaw and unit maybe.....its one story needs very little restoration work to my knowledge being it exists totally in film. Silurians theres loads you could do since they have appeared again in new who and recurred in classic plus new and improved special effects and even a documentary about the idea of a pre human civilization and how many times that pops up in who. Ambassadors they could also do an omnibus edit also piles of interviews and stuff about the restoration and the story. Maybe even a feature on John Abineri since he was in so many who stories. And Inferno already had an extensive two disk dvd special edition so they wouldn't have to add much to get more but an exploration of the novel where the master visits the same parnell universe would fascinate me. But that is very niche I know.

Are people enjoying the S20 set? Was glad to get mine delivered on Monday and have enjoyed going through the first disk. Since they started these sets, I have not rewatched episodes from seasons yet to be released so it feels nice and fresh watching on BluRay!
Great set packed with lots of goodies. This era was mine as a kid - earliest memory was S18’s Keeper of Traken, so this lead up to the 20th anniversary would have seen me in “full fan mode”! Its fab looking back on it.
Bring on the next announcement hey! Ha ha!
