I was always told I am related to a member of The Spectrum named Tony Atkins. I believe that's him on the right in the photo above.

I heard Gerry Anderson was worried about a clash of trademarks with The Spectrum, & offered them them the chance to record a version of the theme to smooth things out, but they didn't have any objections in the end, but still took up the offer to cover the theme.

Honeybus also recorded a follow up I think called 'The Story'. more psychedelic and serious compared to the laid back 'Maggie' ..probably not what their followers were expecting so off they went into history.
One for the list -Gino Washington

A bit outside of the rules but I would love to see some footage of "Frozen Orange Juice" by Peter Sarstedt. The only contemporary footage seems to be "where do you go .."

As it's from a Dutch TV documentary, my guess would be 'Twien', 4th October 1968 (I don't how much of that show survives but certainly some does). Assuming you're right about "Twien" being the source, has anyone been able to confirm what song was actually featured on that episode? As far as I can see "I Can't Let Maggie Go" came out in April '68, and then in September they released "Girl of Independent Means". So isn't it a possibility that the Antwerp ship footage was actually set to the latter song originally? I know in the 2004 doc it was set to ICLMG, but it would make sense for them to change it around since a) it's not lip-sync footage so could be re-used easily enough to accompany a different song; and b) the doc was about ICLMG specifically so a video of a different song would've been less useful to the producers. Just a thought.

Just a thought. Very probable. They did perform 'I Can't Let Maggie Go' on a Dutch TV show called 'Fanclub' on 18th May 1968, but I'm not aware of any footage surviving from that show.

Could be. Checking on the doc details all it states is.. "ARCHIVAL MATERIAL (sw/w): Honeybus on board a boat in Antwerp"

I think I saw that yesterday, that's why I knew it was Antwerp (don't think I would've guessed otherwise.) Anyway it would seem to prove that this footage is from Twien. It's unlikely they filmed two different videos for two different European shows, but both on boats.

No that's from the 2004 documentary. Oh yeah of course sorry, I forgot that both the doc and Twien itself are from the same archive and I looked at the entries for both on that site before. Must've mixed them up in my mind. OK then so there's no proof that the boat footage is from Twien at all. I also wonder if, regardless of what show that footage is from, it may only have survived because it was shot on film and the raw footage has been kept in that format. In which case it might not even have any audio at all to record how it was used originally. Hopefully I'm wrong though.
