Totally agree Jaspal. I cant believe for one moment that Ian is behind this...why would he? This man found a great deal more and saved a huge amount more Doctor Who than Phil. Phil may or may not know who was involved, he says he knows the only people that he ever told, so it starts from there. This item topic has been posted, therefore there has to be a reason for it, or otherwise , why has it been posted? Im sure the Moderators , many of whom have links with Phil, wouldnt have allowed it , if it was just another wind up or it cheapens this site too and this site is far from.

I was hoping so to, but that film print looks too short to be a Doctor Who episode. See below an episode of The Time Meddler. That's a 1600ft reel which when full would run to approximately 45 minutes. It's a looooong time since I worked in the COI's Telecine department but the reel in the picture Morris posted looks about right for 25 minutes or thereabouts.

If nothing else this latest from Phil has kept me mildly entertained over the last 24 hours. 24 hours is a long time in lockdown

We are no further forward without an official announcement and one may never come. You can't announce something you have not physically got. On the other hand this could be the start of something. As per usual the mystery surrounding this episode continues. Expect the unexpected...this would rank as the most bizzare way of confirming a missing episode find ever surely

Look, this is probably more of Phil's optimism (which I appreciate, don't get me wrong) but maybe he really knows something this time. On this tweet regarding the animation of Web of Fear he has made a few ambiguous comments and I was hoping all of you could throw in your 2 cents. Thanks . But it's still there on Amazon. If it gets pulled from it's listings to pre-order then we'll have a bona-fide discrepancy!

Well said Jaspal I agree. No offence but all we have at the moment is one listing disappearing. If the other sites stop listing this then i might start taking this more seriously. I refuse to get my hopes about this long rumoured episode dashed again. We have been going round in circles with this for years. Please somebody anybody confirm with evidence once and for all wether the thing still exists or was destroyed so as we can draw aline on this once and for all...I know tall order😆

There's speculation online it's indication of Zoom.co.uk closing down. They are apparently co-owned by Universal which had pulled out of Distribution in the UK?
I don't have any source for this, just saying this is where the rumor/speculation is going on Twitter and GBase.
Phil is feeding vague responses to people wondering if it is Missing Episodes related.
However, the last time I asked on Facebook if the animation is indication of Web 3 being completely lost he gave a direct response saying the animation is a separate from his continued hunt of the missing episode. I took that to mean there wasn't anything different on his side that caused the BBC to produce the animation. BBC apparently decided not to wait any longer.

It was either destroyed or did exist and since destroyed or still exists. Yes there are more important things in life especially at the moment with this dreadful pandemic. It would still be nice to discover the fate of this print once and for all. I'm just struggling to believe that this occurrence is the moment of truth...love to be proved wrong.

P.S- if this isn't the moment we get to the bottom of this shame as it's started all the rumours again which had settled down with the animation announcement.

Replies like this are what give people hope.
If it turns out not to be 'Web of Fear, 3' then you have to really question what would motivate someone to hint in such a way.
