The Myth Makers is my favourite Hartnell serial. Web of Fear is my favourite Troughton. Both were missing, so perhaps now that the latter has been found I might just get lucky :-) Any chance you could make Fury from the deep your new favourite Troughton serial, Richard? Haha. In all seriousness, good picks. I'd be thrilled to see a Myth Makers episode as one of the elusive six PM has referenced.

Agreed! Sounds such a great serial and it's a massive shame we can't watch it properly. Looking forward to Fury from the Deep's release on Monday - I've been re-watching the recent run of animations lately and thoroughly enjoying them! Troughton in the Macra Terror is so good! Clearly having so much fun - especially when he is giving himself 11/10 for his equation!
Would be great to hear some news on something though - confirmation on the next animations (not sure I have seen anything to confirm EOTD and TAS are definitely the next ones), or on the next release for the Blu-Ray Collection sets, or (and we all hope this), any, any info on those missing episodes that are known to exist by the chaps hunting them down! We can only hope!

Just while we are waiting (please come soon!), a chap called Kieron Hodgson has been doing some 2 minute videos on the early stories - currently up to Marco Polo where it switches from video to stills! Very funny and imaginative! Here's the link to his page in YouTube: www.youtube.com/channel/UC6nnxTpP6T9ydgW1IP31BaA

He also looks a fair bit like Tennant imo.

I really look forward to every episode. I've learned tons.
Love the way they analyse the episode, getting you interested then look at the history of its physical movement in the form of overseas sales and looking at the chances of it being returned.
The sound quality is good as well. I've had to drop some podcasts in the past because they were just hard to listen to.

Just one more additional comment.
I'd also never thought about it before but one of the hosts during the Galaxy 4 episode, mention that several of the segments are pivotal moments as if the person making the film was familiar with the material. That was intriguing, but then I was really surprised when I heard Jan Vincent-Rudzki reveal that one scene on the 8mm film material was recorded twice!
And so a question.
I've always assumed myself they were filmed off-air but I wonder does that mean that they could have been made a different way? Vincent-Rudzki went on to speculate that they may have been recorded off 'two schomes'? I'm not sure what they means. Can someone enlighten me?

Vincent-Rudzki went on to speculate that they may have been recorded off 'two schomes'? I'm not sure what they means. Can someone enlighten me? Jan says "two showings". On the reel, you have the closing seconds of Episode 1 of The Web Planet with the Doctor saying "My TARDIS!" and then the "Next Episode The Zarbi" caption appearing. The bit Jan is referring to immediately follows this and is a few seconds of the re-shot repeat of the cliffhanger at the very start of Episode 2 , which is indeed duplicated. However, it is exactly the same bit of footage repeated twice, with the screen framing and the dark scan lines caused by filming with a cine camera in exactly the same place. In all probability, the material was shot on Standard-8 cine film, which with basically 16mm film with twice the number of perferations. When loaded, the film would be explosed only on one half of the frame. Once used, it would be turned over and the other half exposed. Then, in processing, the film ould be split along it's length and the two ends joined together. The shot of the very end of Episode 1 and the beginning of Episode 2 (the repeated shot) both suffer from light-bleed on the left hand side, which would suggest that this was the end of the roll and the film got turned over at this point. The duplicate clip from Episode 2 starts from a later point than the first version and has all the light bleed trimmed. This might have been done during processing or, if the original owner used 8mm negative stock, he might have made a dupe copy for Jan done and had perfomed the trim work himself.

Thanks for that Richard. No wonder I couldn't figure out what a 'Schome' was regardless of how much googling I undertook!
